Vernon Ray Fuson, 87, went to Heaven November 28, 2015. He was born in Pineville, KY. October 15, 1928. Graduated from Pineville High School, Morehead State College, and University of Louisville School of Medicine. Ray enjoyed the practice of medicine for over 40 years. Ray was an Army veteran having served in the Korean Conflict. Ray took pleasure in making others smile and laugh, loved his many friends and all animals, piloting airplanes, reading, crossword puzzles and traveling this great country. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Philip Fuson and Suddie Gabbard Fuson; one sister, Mildred Fuson Slusher and her husband, Preston; two brothers, Dr. P.L. Fuson and his wife Ann and Dr. Ben Fuson. Ray is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Edna Phillips Fuson; one sister in-law, Joyce Fuson; two brother in-laws, Bill Phillips and his wife, Freda and Jim Phillips and his wife, Deanna; multiple nieces and nephews; as well as many friends. Service to be announced at a later date. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Big Oak Boys Ranch, SAVE, Clay County Animal Shelter or .
