Virginia Parks Woodruff, 89, died on Wednesday, January 22, 2014, at the Regency Retirement Village in Huntsville. She was a long time resident of Alexandria and was married to the late Wallace Green Woodruff Jr.. She is survived by five children, Samuel B. Woodruff, of Denver, Colo., George P. Woodruff, of Huntsville, Angela Lewis, of Taos, N.M., Wallace Green Woodruff III, of Shelbyville, Tenn., and Nan Elizabeth Woodruff, of State College, Pa.; five grandchildren, Wallace Green Woodruff IV, of Shelbyville, Tenn., Bowden Lewis, of Santa Fe, N.M., Mercer Lewis, of Taos, N.M., Zachary and Caroline Woodruff, of Denver, Colo.; two step-granddaughters, Megan Foster, of Huntsville and Malarie Foster, of Tuscaloosa; one great-grandson, Sterling Woodruff, of Shelbyville, Tenn.; son-in-law, Kenton Lewis; daughters-in-law, Becky, Julie and Callie Woodruff; one brother-in-law, John G. Woodruff and sister-in-law, Mary Lou Woodruff, of Alexandria; one niece-in-law, Emily Woodruff; 12 nieces and nephews. She was a member of the Church of the Covenant Presbyterian Church where she served as an Elder for several years, and a life long member of the Variosa Club in Alexandria. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., on Saturday, February 1, 2014, at the Church of the Covenant Presbyterian Church, 401 Lenlock Lane, Anniston, followed by a graveside service at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Alexandria. The family will host a lunch following the graveside service at the Alexandria Community Center, 2065 Wellington Road. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Church of the Covenant Presbyterian Church. Berryhill Funeral Home is assisting the family.
