Funeral service for Walter Everette "Billy" Ramey, 87, will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Anniston Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. Danny McGinnis officiating. Burial will follow in Anniston Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends this evening from 5 until 7 at the funeral home. The Rev. Ramey passed away Friday at Jacksonville Health and Rehab. Survivors include his loving wife of 64 years, Maggie Ramey; children, Frank Ramey, Rickey Ramey (Laurie), Steve Ramey (Kim), Kay Ramey, Jeanie Floyd (James), David Ramey (Patricia) and Timothy Ramey (Sharon); 29 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He will be reunited with his parents, Walter James and Alma Geneva Ramey; two daughters, Nancy and Donna Jo Ramey; his brothers, James and Wilbur Ramey and his sisters, Frances Evelyn, Geneva Brooks and Edna Johnson. Pallbearers will be Rickey Ramey Jr., Matthew Ramey, Justin Ramey, Danny Summers, Jesse Summers and John Marable. Walther was born in Anniston on March 18, 1928. He was a Korean War Veteran, a pastor of Shady Grove Methodist Church and retired from Anniston Army Depot. The family wishes to thank Marie Wilson for her loving care these last years and special thanks to Dr. Grana, staff at Jacksonville Health and Rehab Center and to Angela Williams and Comfort Care Hospice for their care these last few weeks.
