Wanda Waldrop, 70, died Wednesday, September 16, 2015, at her residence. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2015, at Dryden Funeral Home Chapel with Mrs. Thyra Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, September 18, 2015, from 4:30 until 7 p.m. Dryden Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include her daughters, Becky (Douglas) Smith, of Nances Creek, and Belinda (Terry) Hathorn, of Fruithurst; sons, Dwayne (Linda) Waldrop, of Heflin, and Chester (Sandra) Waldrop, of Chulafinnee; sister, Alice Pate, of Blue Mountain; brothers, Fred Owen, of Tallapoosa, Ga., Herschel Owen, of Oneonta, Milton Owen, of Heflin, and Tom Owen, of Heflin; 12 grandchildren; 16 great- grandchildren. Pallbearers will be, Greggory Waldrop, Tyler Brandenstein, Matthew Waldrop, Christopher Waldrop, Benjamin Conklin and Terry Hathorn. Mrs. Waldrop was retired from Crowntuft Manufacturing after 22 years of service. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was an avid gardener and one heck of a cook, and homemade biscuits were her specialty. She and her biscuits will be missed. The family would like to thank Elsie Jeffers for her love and support of their mother during her illness, and would like to thank New Beacon Hospice. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Waldrop; parents, Manuel Grady and Eula Owen, and brothers, Manuel Grady Owen Jr., Cranston Owen and Ray Owen.
