Wayne Alan Boozer, 62, passed away Friday, March 7, 2014, at St. Mary's Health and Rehabilitation Center in Davenport, Iowa. Wayne was born on June 30, 1951, in Ohatchee, the son of Joe Boozer and Carolyn (Pentecost) Boozer. He graduated from Alexandria High School in 1969, Jacksonville State University in 1973 and Auburn University in 1979. He served as an officer for the U.S. Army from 1974 until 1977. Wayne retired in June 2012 from the U.S. Army where he served as a DA civilian for over 30 years with his most recent position being an engineer assigned to ARDEC at Rock Island Arsenal. He married Mary Killen in 1980 and they had four children together. He later married Joanne Fleener in 1995. Wayne enjoyed science and engineering, attending auctions, NASCAR and watching Auburn Football. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him. Those left to honor his memory include his mother, Carolyn, of Moody; his children, Stephanie Boozer (Patrick) James, of Davenport, Iowa; sons, Stephen Boozer, of Bettendorf, Iowa, and Scott Boozer, of Davenport, Iowa, and brothers, Ken (LuAnn) Boozer, of Clay, and Steve (Linda) Boozer, of Moody. He was preceded in death by a sister, Cheryl; his father and an infant daughter, Theresa. Visitation will be Thursday, March 13, 2014, from 12 p.m. until service time at 1 p.m. at Ridout's Trussville Chapel. Interment will follow at a graveside service at 3:30 p.m. at Union Methodist Church Cemetery in Wellington.
