Funeral service for Mr. William "Billy" Edward McDill, 83, will be Wednesday, July 6, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with burial to follow at Bethel Cemetery. Visitation will be this evening from 6-8 at the funeral home. Mr. McDill passed peacefully on Saturday, July 2, 2016, in Anniston. Mr. McDill is survived by his wife, Sue McDill; son, Bryan McDill; sisters, Donna (Chuck) Belew, Arlene (Lin) Parton and Deanie (Ed) Young; sister-in-law, Katie McDill; brothers, Freddie (Faye) McDill and Rev. Ellis (Jean) McDill; several nieces and nephews. Mr. McDill was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Leona McDill, and brother, J.L. McDill. Pallbearers will be Randy McDill, Scott McDill, Steven McDill, Rick McDill, Todd Kirkland, Josh Parton, Chad Parton and Norman McDill. Honorary pallbearers will Lin Parton, Ed Young, Chuck Belew, Glenn Cruise, Earl Plummer, Mike Jenkins, Rick Thomas and Big Oak Volunteer Fire Department. Billy was the founder of Big Oak Fire Dept. where he served as Chief until 2012 when his health changed. He was the honorary mayor of Peeks Hill. Condolences may be left at www.chapelhillfh.com
