Funeral service for Willie Lockridge Trantham Cooper, 97, will be Friday, January 24, 2014, at 2 p.m. at the K.L. Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Center Chapel with the Rev. Leroy Austin officiating. Burial will be in the Union Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 1-2 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Cooper died Tuesday, January 21, 2014, at Jacksonville Health & Rehab. She is survived by her two daughters, Shirley Couch and Linda Gregory; her son, Jimmy Trantham and his wife, Eileen; 13 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and one sister, Ruth Maddox. Pallbearers will be Tony McBride, Jimmy McBride, Johnny McBride, Ronnie Maddox, Billy Couch and Zach Kiser. Mrs. Cooper grew up in Rock Run and lived in Anniston, Jacksonville, Ala. and Cedartown and Trion, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Cooper; her first husband, John Roy Trantham; a daughter, Doris Bolden; three sisters, Bessie Henderson, Jewell Aldridge and Sara Maddox.
