Funeral services for Willie Mae Allen, 96, will be today at 12:30 p.m. at the K. L. Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Center Chapel with the Rev. Gary Watts and Rev. Clarence Angelette officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. Mrs. Allen died Friday, January 4, 2013, at Jacksonville Health and Rehabilitation. She is survived by a daughter, Sarah Ruth Crook and her husband, Joel, of Jacksonville; a son, Michael Malcolm Allen and his wife, Patricia, of Jacksonville, Fla.; nine grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Timothy Crook, Darryl Crook, Jason Crook, Jeremy Crook, Josh Crook and Gregg Padgett. Honorary pallbearers will be Justin Crook, Vance Crook, Matt Crook and Dakota Crook. Mrs. Allen was a native of Paulding County, Georgia and had resided in Calhoun County for the past 15 years. She was a member of the United Congregational Holiness Church in Villa Rica, Ga., and she enjoyed gospel singing. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Albert Allen.
