Funeral service for Willie Mae Cook Gatson, 57, will be on Friday, January 2, 2015, at 11:30 a.m. at Springhill Baptist Church with the Rev. Mack Jenkins officiating. Mrs. Gatson remains will arrive at the church two hours prior to her services. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Church Cemetery. Mrs. Gatson passed away on December 29, 2014 at Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Gatson graduated in the Class of 1975 at Lineville High School. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Eugene Gatson; son, Nicholas R. Cook, of Lineville; grandchildren, Daonta Cook, of Montgomery, Kinley N. Cook, of Austell, Ga.; siblings, Lera Williams, of San Diego, Calif., Nellie (Claudie) Brown, of Heflin, Jerry Ackles, of Lineville, Terry Ackles, of Gadsden; in-laws, Gwendolyn Ackles and Helen Ackles both, of Ashland, Aaron Hill, of Gadsden, Roberta Coleman, Carl Gatson, Calvin (Myrtis) Gatson and Jeffey (Shelia) Gatson, all of Montgomery; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Icybelle Ackles; siblings, Bemis, Freeman and Breeman Ackles and Effie Mae Hill.
