Willodean M. "Boots" Jacks, 83, passed away January 30, 2015 of a prolonged illness. Born on November 19, 1931 in Cullman County she spent her early years in the Brooklyn Community on the family farm before moving to Calhoun County and finishing high school at Oxford High School. She met her husband Alvin in Oxford and married. They had three children, Vicki, Marty and Ken. Following Alvin's death in 1964 she worked for a short time at Tape Craft before becoming the school Secretary at Coldwater Elementary School where she continued employment until her children were grown. She then went to work for the IRS in Birmingham until transferring to the Anniston Army Depot from where she retired. Following retirement she moved to Lincoln where she lived until her death. She is survived by her sister, Leona M. Wright; her children, Vicki Jacks Turner and husband, Tobie Turner, Martin L. Jacks and wife, Brenda Jacks, Kenneth H. Jacks and wife, Sonya Jacks; five grand children, Tanya Reyer, Jeremy Jacks, Kevin Jacks, Christa Brasher and William Pruitt; four great-grandchildren, Caden Jacks, Conner Jacks, Adelyn Jacks and Kadynce Jacks and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, W.C. and Ollie Martin; two brothers, Thoyd and Paschal Martin; sister, Doris Hunter; a granddaughter, Terra Harwell and her beloved husband, Alvin Lamar Jacks. Visitation will be at Gray Brown Memorial Services from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday, February 2, 2015. Funeral service will be in the chapel at Gray Brown at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, February 3, 2015, with Minster Eddie Beard officiating. Internment will be at Forest Lawn Gardens following the service.
