Funeral service for W.L. "Tug" Moody Sr., 84, will be 2 p.m. Monday, November 7, 2016, at Gray Brown-Service Chapel with the Rev. David Duke officiating. Burial will be at Anniston Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Monday from 1 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Mr. Moody passed away on Thursday in Ohatchee. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Betty Moody; daughters, Helen Abernathy, Rebecca Hammett (David) and Karen Moody; son, Waffern Lee Moody Jr. (Sherry); sisters, Elwanda Evans (Hal) and Lunette Rice (Vernon); brothers, Wendell Moody (Vickie), Dale Moody (Barbara) and Randy Moody (Linda); grandchildren, Zendy Franks (Mark), Terrance Abernathy (Bethany), Chris Baker, Traci Wagnon (Clint), Mark Hammett (Magan), Jeremy Dix (Jennifer), Jessica Blanks (Chad) and Alex Moody (Faith); 23 great- grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Moody is preceded in death by his parents Harvey Hilbert and Nora Moody; sisters, Nelda Beatrice "Dot" Jones, Jessa Lee Moody and Mary Ruth Moody; brothers, Calvest Moody, Calvert "Bill" Moody, Nathan Moody and Hilbert Moody. Pallbearers will be Alex Moody, Mark Hammett, Terrance Abernathy, Chris Baker, Chad Blanks and David Hammett. Honorary Pallbearers will be great- grandsons. The family requests no flowers. Mr. Moody was a native of Winston County and a resident of Calhoun County since 1949. He retired from Bowman Transportation where he was a truck driver for many years. He was an outdoor man and loved to fish. He always had a smile on his face and love in his eyes for his family, friends, kids, grand kids and great grand kids.
