Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 3, 2016, at Dryden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Hayward Clark officiating. Burial will follow at Lower Cane Creek Cemetery. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Mary Jane Naugle Edwards; his son, John Daniel Edwards; his sisters, Jencie Edwards, Ibis Freeman and Ilene Williams. He is survived by his daughter, Barbara Edwards Stearns; his son, James Wyatt Edwards; two granddaughters, five great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter. Also numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grand nephews. Wyatt was a veteran of WWII. He was part of the 95th Infantry, and one of The Iron Men of Metz. He loved to attend their reunions and went almost every year until 2005. He retired from the City of Fort Meyers, Fla., where he had been a Waste Water Treatment Plant Operator for almost 30 years. He was a member of the Lions Club, a proud blood donor, having donated gallons of blood. He enjoyed his bowling league and traveling around our great country. Wyatt will be dearly missed by family and friends, and remembered as one of the kindest, most helpful people one could know. Dryden Funeral Home 256-463-2287 Visit our website: drydenfuneralhome.com
