Funeral services for Wynell H. Reeves, 89, of Gadsden, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at Liberty Baptist Church Crossville, Alabama (Painter Community. Bro. Roger White, Bro. Charles Watkins, Bro. Earl Mitchell, and Bro. Philip Elliott officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing. Mrs. Reeves worked for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company for 40 years. She was a lifetime member of Liberty Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and sang in the choir for 70 years. She was an active member of the O.E.S, having also served as a Grand Officer. She is survived by her son, Randall (Elaine) Reeves; daughter, Regina (Jeff) Word; grandchildren, Kevin (Christina) Reeves, Stephen (Tracey) Reeves, Kristi (Jonathan) Morton, Hannah (Stephen) Wooten, Emily Word and Noah Word; great-grandchildren, Andrew Reeves, Aaron Reeves, John Curtis Reeves, Samuel Reeves and Jamison Goosby; brother, Kermit (Ernestine) Hammonds; sisters, Shelba (Edwin) Allen, Jeanette (Randall) McMullins, and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis A. (Kid) Reeves; her parents, Vollie and Grace Hammonds; brother, R. C. Hammonds and sister, Latrell Johnson. Pallbearers will be Kevin Reeves, Stephen Reeves, Ricky Johnson, Jeff Allen, Shannon Allen, and Stephen Wooten. Honorary pallbearers will be Jonathan Morton and Frank Painter. Thank you to Amedisys Hospice and Home Health, Joy Fleming RN, Jay Beggs RN, Teia Horton RN, Teresa Majors HHA, Sherry Eubanks PT, Casey Wigley PT, Dr. Jason Junkins, and Dr. Thomas Corley and Staff. A special thank you to caregivers, Jane (Willie) Ragland and Rebecca Wilchar, who for 4 months lived with, and offered loving care. Visitation will be this evening, January 8, 2013 from 6 - 8 p.m. at Collier Butler Funeral Home; and Wednesday, January 9, from 1 - 2 p.m. at Liberty Baptist Church. Flowers will be accepted, or in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Painter Community Cemetery Road Paving Fund c/o Edwin Allen, 808 Co. Road 9, Crossville, AL 35962.
