Zebedee Freeman Jr, 70, passed away on January 7, 2017, at Stringfellow Memorial Hospital. Funeral service with military honors will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Friendship Baptist Church with the Rev. Carlton Phillips, Pastorand the Rev. LaNoah Ealy officiating. Burial will follow at Anniston Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be today, January 11, 2017, from 1 - 7 p.m. Mr. Freeman was born and raised in Anniston, where he graduated from Cobb High School in 1965. He retired from the United States Postal Service after more than 35 years of service. He also served as a deacon at Mars Hill Missionary Baptist Church. He is survived by of his loving and devoted wife, of 48 years, Alberta Freeman; daughter, Sonja Freeman, of Anniston; sons, Marc Freeman, of Anniston and Zebedee (Holli) Freeman III, of Douglasville, Ga.; grandchildren, Krystal (Jamini) Freeman Hershberger, of Sandy Springs, Ga.; Marc Freeman Jr., of Birmingham and Zebedee Freeman IV, of Dallas, Tex.; two sisters, Etta Slaughter, of Chicago, Ill. and Alice Jernigan, of Anniston; one brother, Odis (Francina) Freeman, of Los Angeles, Calif., and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Zeb was preceded in death by his parents, Zebedee and Eula Freeman; three sisters, Marvalene Freeman, Arlene Freeman, and Johnnie Edwards; two brothers, Ulysses Freeman and Willis Freeman, and a host of other loving aunts, uncles and other relatives.
