Funeral service for Zelma Isaacs, 66, will be on Saturday, February 20, 2016, at noon at Seventeenth Street Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Robert "Bob" McClain officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens. Mrs. Isaacs passed away on February 13, 2016 in the comfort of her home. At the family request there will be no public viewing and visitation. Mrs. Isaacs graduated from Henry Weathers High School, Alcorn State University in Lorman, MS in 1972 and completed her advance graduate hours at Auburn University. Mrs. Isaacs's first teaching assignment was at her high school alma mater at Henry Weathers High School. She also taught at Texas A&M in Ft. Leonardwood, Mo., in Stuttgart, Germany, Ft. Stewart, Ga. and Wahiawa, Hawaii. Mrs. Isaacs has spent more then two decades at Anniston High School working a variety of roles. She was a Lead Teacher, Career and Technical Business Education Teacher, Co-Op Coordinator, FBLA Adviser and DECA Inc. Adviser. She mentored generations of Anniston teens, beloved by pupils and colleagues. Mrs. Isaacs was known at Anniston High School as the "Cookie Lady" because she sold warm cookies at school athletic competitions. Mrs. Isaacs served as a Deaconess at Living By Faith Ministry. Survivors include her husband, Victor Isaacs Sr.; daughter, Angela; son, Victor Jr.; grandson, Victor III; brothers, Floyd (Evadell) Ware Jr., David N. (Nikisha) Ware; sister in-law, Janie Evans, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Lelia Ware; sister, Monica Bell; brother in-law, Roland Evans Sr..
