Funeral service for Mrs. Opal H Guthrie, 90, of Wellington, will be today, August 18, 2013, at 3 p.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with the Rev. Daniel Harper and the Rev. Herb Robertson officiating. Burial will follow at Anniston Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on this afternoon from 1 - 3 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service. Mrs. Guthrie passed away Friday, August 16, 2013, at her residence. Mrs. Guthrie is survived by her daughters, Wanda Guthrie and Judy Guthrie; daughter-in-law, Paula Guthrie; sister, Pollye Howell; grandchildren, Brian (Michele) Neely, Jeremy (Ashley) Guthrie, Cory (Amanda) Guthrie; great-grandchildren, Nicholas Neely, Zachary Neely and Emma Guthrie and special friends, Edna Walden and J.C. and Leta Pruitt. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Brian Neely, Jeremy Guthrie and Cory Guthrie; neighbors, Richard Prickett and Randy Smith and nephew, Owens Guthrie. Mrs. Guthrie was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson Guthrie; son, Terry Guthrie; father and mother, Fred and Mamie Howard; brother, Bill Howard and sister, Frances Dear. Mrs. Guthrie was a resident of Wellington and a devoted wife of a farmer. She was a loving Mother who will be dearly missed by her children, grandchildren, and great-grand children.
