A Graveside Service MSgt Thomas V. Owen, United States Air Force, retired, 70, of Anniston, will take place at a later date at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, California. Mr. Owen passed away on May 22, 2014 at NE Alabama Regional Medical Center. Mr. Owen was a native of Anniston and a graduate of Oxford High School. He joined the United States Air Force at the age of 19 and served honorably before retiring after 20 years of service. While in the Air Force, he served as a computer specialist and flew missions on the AWACS while stationed in Washington State. Mr. Owen is preceded in death by his parents, James Virgil and Ruby Stewart Owen. Mr. Owen is survived by his daughter, Rhea Y. Lamia, of Los Angeles, Calif.; a son, Jeff Owen, of Redondo Beach, Calif.; two grandchildren, Nolan Lamia and Connor Lamia; his sisters, Yvonne Humphrey, of Weaver, Louise Galloway, of Greenville, S.C., and Marcia Turner, of Birmingham; a brother, Jim Owen, of Anniston and numerous nieces and nephews.
