Minnie Hyatt Lopresto, 80, of Long Beach, Miss., passed away on Sunday, May 25, 2014, in Gulfport, Miss. Mrs. Lopresto was born August 11, 1933 in Cleburne County, Alabama. She graduated from Cleburne County High School in 1952. Mrs. Lopresto worked as a Telephone Operator at South Central Bell for 30 1/2 years and in the casino industry as a PBX Operator for 17 years. She was an active member of New Hope Baptist Church in Gulfport and a member of the Telephone Pioneers. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bonnie and Grace Hyatt; sister, Betty Ann Nichols; brothers, J.T. Hyatt, Fred Hyatt, Bobby Hyatt and Frank Hyatt. Survivors include her husband, of 52 years, Frank E. Lopresto; daughter, Lisa Lopresto Lute of Long Beach; grandsons, Robert Lute of San Diego and Christopher Lute of Long Beach; siblings, Virginia Messer of Heflin, Ala., Lucille Loveless of Ranburne, Ala., Jerry Hyatt of Bowden, Ga., Faye McLeroy, of Powder Springs, Ga. and Peggy Cheatwood of Heflin, Ala.; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a loving wife, sister, mother and grandmother and will be sadly missed. Visitation was held from 2-4 p.m. with the Funeral Service at 4 p.m., May 27, 2014, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Road, Long Beach, MS 39560. The graveside service will be at 10 a.m., today at Biloxi National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to New Hope Baptist Church or to one's favorite charity.
