William Enest Gray, 97, died ThursdaMay 29, 2014 at Regional Medical Center. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday May 31, 2014, at Pinetucky Baptist Church with the Rev. Donald Triplett, the Rev. Billy Wayne Morris officiating. Burial will follow in Pinetucky Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday May 30, 2014, from 5-7 p.m. Dryden Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Survivor include wife Naomi Mays Gray,of Heflin; daughters, Geraldine (Jerry) York, of Oxford, Gail (Wayne) Taylor, of Anniston Karen(Troy) Spurlin, of Lineville; Stepsons, John (Shona) Mays, Donnie Mays, of Heflin; sister, Lucille Hill, of Roanoke. Pallbearers will be Lee Higgins, Kevin Higgins, Dillon Mays, Preston York, David Roberts and Charles Kennedy. Mr. Gray was a native of Randolph County and a resident of the Micaville community for most of his life. He was a retired heavy equipment operator who served as Cleburne County Commissioner for 12 years. Mr. Gray was a founding member of Pinetucky Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 68 years Olzie Gray. The family requests that no live floral arrangements be sent due to allergies.
