Terry W. Matthews, 57, went home to our Lord on Friday, June 20, 2014 after his long fight with cancer. He is survived by his wife, Myra Matthews, of Anniston; a daughter, Jennifer Matthews and two grandsons, Xavier and Turner Hamilton, all of Enterprise; his mother, Sarah Kirby, of Jacksonville; his brothers, Randy Matthews and his wife Ellen, of Douglasville, Ga. and Steven Matthews and his wife Donna, of Lugoff, S.C. and two nieces, Stephanie and Kristie. A gathering of family and friends will be held Monday, June 23, 2014, at 2 p.m. at the K. L. Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Center Chapel in Jacksonville. Mr. Matthews attended Jacksonville High School. He was a veteran of the U. S. Marine Corp and retired in 2011 from Anniston Army Depot with 37 years combined federal service. He liked to hunt, watch movies, travel and spend time with his family and his dogs, Angel and Emma. He was a loved husband, father, son, brother and friend, who will be dearly missed. He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence "Eugene" Matthews and his step father, William "Roger" Kirby.
