Service for Joe Edward Evans, 87, will be Sunday 3 p.m. at Anniston Memorial Funeral Home with Evangelist Aaron J. Dodson officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until service time. Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Jewell Edna Evans; children, Troy Edward Evans (Dorothy), Tina E. Ford, Scott Erwin Evans (Kathy), JoAnn McInnish (Greg); grandchildren, Sonja T. Tyree (Scott), Ricky L. Townsend, Angela Formby (Nathan), David E. Evans, Christopher W. McInnish, Joseph S. Evans; three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Will L. Evans; mother, Carra O. Evans; two brothers and two sisters. Pallbearers will be Ricky L. Townsend, David E. Evans, Christopher W. McInnish, Joseph S. Evans, Scott Tyree and Chandler S. Tyree. Mr. Evans served as a Fireman with the Anniston Fire Department for 32 years retiring as a Captain and was a member of the Church of Christ.
