Funeral service for Mabel Wyatt Jackson, 85, of Oxford, will be held Monday, August 4, 2014 at 11 a.m. at K.L. Brown Memory Chapel in Golden Springs with the Reverend Dr. Harris Hand officiating. Interment will follow at Forestlawn Gardens. The family will receive friends from 4 - 6 p.m., today at the funeral home. Mrs. Jackson passed away Friday, August 1, 2014 at Brookwood Medical Center in Birmingham. She is preceded in death by her husband, Harlan B. Jackson; her parents, Thomas Brantley and Mattie Everage Wyatt; and her son, Dr. Wyatt Jackson. Mrs. Jackson retired from RMC after 28 years of service. She was a member of Oxford First United Methodist Church and the Lucy Mitchell Subgroup of the United Methodist Women; she was also a member of the Silver-Haired Legislature and the Golden K Club of Oxford. Mrs. Jackson was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and was the essence of a true southern lady. Survivors include a daughter, Lorraine Jackson Busby and her husband, Larry, of Oxford; daughter-in-law, Anya Jackson, of Roanoke; grandchildren, Jason Busby and his wife, Angie, Stacey Busby Rhodes and her husband, Josh, Laura Jackson Foster and her husband, Trae, Mary Jackson, and Marc Jackson and his wife, Emily; great-grandchildren, Cole O'Bryant, Dillon Busby, Cara Busby, Hank Rhodes, Kate Foster, and Leigha Foster; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Kurry Wyatt, Mark Wyatt, Dennis Wallace, Phil Jackson, Blake Owens, Bill Prestridge, Paul Joseph, and David Burford. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Oxford First United Methodist Church, 212 Snow Street, Oxford, AL 36203; or to the , 1100 Ireland Way, Suite 101, Birmingham, AL 35205.
