A memorial service will be held 4 p.m. Saturday August 9, at Piedmont Seventh day advent church for Clifford Eads, 92, who died Saturday, August 2, Pastor Rick Blythe will be officiating. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge of service. Mr. Eads was a United States Army veteran and was a prisoner of war being held at Stalag 7A in Mossberg, Germany. He was an active member of Piedmont Seventh Day Advent Church, retired from Good Year Tire and Rubber with over 40 years of service. In retirement he loved gardening, was an avid Alabama Crimson Tide fan, a loving Husband, Father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to all and will be dearly missed. He is preceded in death by parents, Sham and Lola Eads; first wife, Nada Temple Eads; daughter, Fredra Boshell; son, Joe Chestnut Eads; brothers, Kenneth Pitts and George Eads. He is survived by wife, Violet Eads; sons Charles, Michael and Joseph Eads; grandson, Jay Eads; granddaughter, Courtney Eads; 2 stepsons, Tony (Donna) Stringfield, of Cartersville Ga., Don Stringfield, of Ashville N.C.; 2 stepdaughters, Debbie Parish and Lisa (James) McKissick; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, which includes Taylor and Tyler Coley who shared his home, sister, Barbara (Brant) Jenkins, of Valdosta Ga.; brother, Bobby (Ginger) Pitts; numerous nieces, nephews and in laws.
