Funeral service for Raymond Eber Reaves, 88, of Anniston, will be 1 p.m. Friday, August 8, 2014, at Gray Brown Service Chapel with the Rev. Abby Carlisle Wilkes. Burial will follow at Forestlawn Gardens. The family will receive friends tonight from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home and Friday from 8 a.m. till service. Mr. Reaves passed away on Tuesday at Jacksonville Health & Rehab. Survivors include his wife, Sybil (Doss) Reaves; three sons, Steven Reaves (Debra), Brandon Reaves and Phillip Reaves; one brother, Jim Reaves (Debbie); many nieces and nephews; many grand nieces and nephews. Mr. Reaves is preceded in death by his parents, Eber and Elizabeth (Boone) Reaves; brother, Frank Reaves; sisters, Clarice Reaves and Edna Davis; brothers, David Reaves and Earl Reaves. Pallbearers will be John D. Reaves, Carl M. Reaves, Fred Davis, Wittie Aids, Ethan Warren and Brayden Dodd. Honorary Pallbearers will be McCoy's United Methodist Men's Club. Mr. Reaves was a native and lifelong resident of Calhoun County. He was a member of McCoy United Methodist Church. He worked at Standard Founder as a moulder for over 30 years. Mr. Reaves was a union member of the Local Moulders Union #324 where he served as past president. Mr. Reaves served in the U.S. Navy during WWII.
