A memorial service for Mr. Robert Jerre Webb, 83, of Anniston will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 22, 2014 at St. Mark United Methodist Church in Golden Springs with the Reverend Sonny Champion officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the service hour at the church. Mr. Webb died at his home on August 18, 2014. A native of Calhoun County, Mr. Webb was a 1949 graduate of Alexandria High School. He went on to serve his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. In 1956, he began his career at Anniston Army Depot and at the time of his retirement in 1990, he served as Director of Supply. Mr. Webb was a long time member of St. Mark United Methodist Church. He was a warm, caring person with a wonderful sense of humor, who never met a stranger. He was happiest when spending time with his family and friends, especially his four grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be deeply missed. Mr. Webb is preceded in death by his parents, Warner and Lois Hurst Webb; sister, Joan Webb Welch. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Molly Cook Webb, of Anniston; his daughters, Lisa Webb East and her husband, Joe, of Dadeville, and Janet Webb Howle and her husband, Bill, of Huntsville; grandchildren, Justin East, Jarrod East, Will Howle, and Molly Frances Howle; a sister, Annie Ruth Webb Hudson of Douglasville, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews.
