Funeral service for Exie L. McCareeth, 85, of Anniston will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Gray Brown Service Chapel with Bill Thrash, Doug Walker and Judy Masters officiating. Burial will be at Anniston Memorial Gardens. Mrs. McCareeth passed away August 19, in Oxford. Survivors include two sisters, Virginia Bowens, of Gadsden and Sylvia Holder, of Douglasville Ga.; several nieces and nephews. Exie L. McCareeth is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, James Leroy McCareeth; mother, Ella Jane Turley; father, Truman Nix. Pallbearers will be Glen Walker, Scott Kirby, Douglas Walker, Greg McCareeth, Roger McCareeth and Ricky Nappier. Exie L. McCareeth was a native of Cleburne County and a resident of Calhoun County. She retired after 39 years with Linen Thread Co. in product packaging. She was a longtime member of Fairview Heights Northside Baptist Church and a member of the Morning Star and was an avid doll collector.
