Services for John "Bunk" Maddox, 62, will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory with Brother Eddie Lindsey officiating. The family will receive friends this evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Maddox died Monday, September 27, 2010, at his home. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Maddox; one son, Michael Maddox (Dorothy), of Piedmont; one daughter, Lisa Rodgers, of Piedmont; two granddaughters, Ashlee Maddox and Jessica Shelton; four sisters, Annie Mae Maddox, of Heflin, Wanda Maddox and Kathy Maddox, both of Piedmont and Linda King, of Centre; three brothers, Terry Maddox (Maylene) and Alton Maddox (Evelyn), all of Piedmont and Ronnie Maddox, of Heflin; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Maddox was a native and resident of Piedmont and a former employee of Fruit of the Loom in Jacksonville. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and loved fishing, mud racing and his dog, Rebel. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Frances Maddox; two sisters and two brothers. The family requests no flowers and suggest memorial contributions be made to a favorite charity.
