Funeral service for Douglas B. Cooper, 69, of Anniston, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 30, 2011, at K.L. Brown Memory Chapel with the Rev. Dan Compton officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 - 7 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Mr. Cooper died Saturday at his home. Mr. Cooper worked at Royal Automobile in Birmingham before moving to the Anniston area in 1977 when he purchased Cooper Chevrolet Buick. He was a member of the Mason and a Shriner. Mr. Cooper is preceded in death by his wife, Delores Faught Cooper. Survivors include his daughter, Deena Montgomery and husband, Greg; three grandchildren, Cooper, Grace and Sam Montgomery; his mother-in-law, Dorothy Opal Faught; a sister, Gayle Crisp; two brothers, John Cooper and wife, Hilda and Samuel Cooper and wife, Patsy; three sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Aldridge and husband, Don, Karen Horne and husband, Matt, and Bridget Woodall and husband, Joe; brother-in-law, Kim Faught and wife, Debbie; many nieces and nephews and friend, Kathie Jordan. Pallbearers will be Marc Cooper, Greg Cooper, Sammy Cooper, Bill Aldridge, Scott Aldridge, William Woodall, and Aaron Faught. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Cooper Chevrolet Buick Family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Austinville (521 Austinville Road SW; Decatur, AL 35601) and Golden Springs Baptist Church (3 Robertson Road; Anniston, AL 36207).
