Anniston - Funeral services for Sgt. DeQuirea Lashawn Royal, 24, will be on Saturday, April 14, 2012, at 1 p.m. at Seventeenth Street Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Frederick Durant officiating. Burial will be in Eden Hills Cemetery. The body will arrive at the church one hour prior to services. Anniston Funeral Services in charge. Visitation will be today 1 - 7 p.m. at Russell H. Williams Memorial Chapel. Sgt. Royal departed this life April 6, 2012 at her residence, DeQuirea was a member of Seventeenth Street Missionary Baptist Church. She was educated in Anniston City School System and graduated from Anniston High School, Class of 2006. In 2005, she joined the ROTC and became a member of the Army National Guard, where she progressed to the rank of Sargent. She was employed at Koch Poultry Plant and an active member of Battalion 167 Infantry, 167 Forward Support Company. Survivors include her parents, Christine Royal (Ronnie) Mixon, of Ohatchee, and James Heath, of Georgia; siblings, Brianna Royal, Nakita Royal, Ronnie Royal Mixon Jr., Ronnie Royal Mixon, Keyona Royal, Quonisha Royal, James Royal, Quincy Flucker, Montez Feagan, Octavian Munroe and Tamika Massey; other relatives and friends. DeQuirea was preceded in death by her great-grandmother, Rosa Mae Royal; grandmother, Debra Royal and Luzell Mixon; uncle, James A.
