Heflin - Thaddius Alexander "Tad" Martin, born July 16, 1990, died June 16, 2013. He was a 2008 graduate of Ranburne High School, where he played varsity football. He was employed by the Carroll County Fire Department and was a member of the Heflin Volunteer Fire Department. Tad loved his family and friends, hunting, four-wheeling and country music. He was a Christian and a member of Ranburne Baptist Church and an active youth member. Tad was a good hearted, kind and loving person. He is loved by many and will be deeply missed. Tad is survived by his parents, Sonny and Karen Martin; sisters, Farrah (Paul) Pesnell, April (Drew) Patterson, Julie (Joe) Cole; brothers, Bradley Martin, Jimmy (Katie) Morgan, Anthony (Amber) Casey, Ryan (Tassie) Zellner; nieces, Olivia Zellner, Kotie and Gracie Pesnell, Kendall Winkles, Khloe Patterson, and Skylar Harris; nephews, Blake Morgan, Jacob Winkles, Jacob Harris. Pallbearers will be Anthony Casey, Rhett Calvert, Jimmy Morgan, Ryan Zellner, Paul Pesnell, Brandon Hammond, Randy Werner, Jason Waddell, and Dustin Prince. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 20, 2013, at Macedonia Baptist Church with the Rev. James Benefield and Rev. Chris Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in Cleburne Memorial Garden. Visitation will be this evening, June 19, 2013, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Dryden Funeral Home.
