Funeral services for James Elon "Jim" Moree Sr., 83, of Alexandria, will be held Sunday, July 7, 2013, at 2 p.m. from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jamie Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Antioch Christian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, July 6, 2013. Mr. Moree died Monday, July 1, 2013, at his home. He is survived by his wife, Julia Kirby Moree, of Alexandria; one daughter, Belinda K. Blackburn (husband, Glenn), of Anniston; one son, James E. "Butch" Moree Jr., of Colorado Springs, Colo.; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Butch Moree, Jason Moree, Glenn Blackburn, Elden Ross, Scott Brasseal, and Marc Tupman. A Randolph County native, Mr. Moree was born September 12, 1929, son of John Ceaphus and Carrie Segrest Moree. He was a member of Antioch Christian Church and had been employed as a polygraph examiner with the U.S. government. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Hellen Moree; one daughter, Sonja Moree; nine brothers and sisters. Condolences may be expressed at www.quattlebaumfuneralhome.com.
