Jacksonville - A Memorial Service with full Military Honors for Kenneth Alvin Kinner, 67, of Jacksonville, will be Saturday, July 20, 2013, at 11 a.m. at K.L. Brown Memory Chapel in Golden Springs with the Rev. Donnie Sills officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Kinner passed away Sunday, July 14, 2013, at his home. He is preceded in death by his father, Elmer "Boots" Kinner; mother, Catherine Kinner Crawford; sister, Katie Crawford; and Marilyn S. Kinner, the mother of his sons, Sean and Brian. Mr. Kinner served his country for fourteen years in the U.S. Navy and for seven years in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a JSU Alumnus and marched with the Southerners of JSU. Survivors include his love and life partner for the past 12 years, Joan Hixon; sons, Sean Michael Kinner, of Oklahoma City, Okla. and Brian Eugene Kinner and his wife, Kristina, of Columbus, Miss.; grandchildren, Sydney and Logan Kinner; stepdaughters, Lori Enslen, of Williamsburg, Va., and Lane Eyestone of Fredricksburg, Va.; brothers, Michael Kinner, of Batavia, Ohio and Lou Kinner, of Seattle, Wash.; and several nieces and nephews.
