CHERAW, S.C. — Juliette Ross Pleasant, 70, died Thursday, June 26, 2014. Born in Wadesboro, N.C., she was the daughter of the late George Hammond and Jane Baldwin Ross. She was the widow of David Earl Pleasant.
Mrs. Pleasant was a graduate of the University of North Carolina. She had been a teacher at the Cheraw Academy and was a member of St. David's Episcopal Church. She had served on the board of St. David's Day School as Treasurer and had helped manage the Inn Cheraw and the Cheraw Country Club. She had also served as the office receptionist of Cheraw First Baptist Church. She was a member of the Red Hat Society. Most of all, she loved being a grandmother.
Surviving is her son, Ralph G. "Andy" (Lynn Moore) Martin, III, of Charleston, SC..; a daughter, Caroline Martin (Tommy) Stokes of Florence, S.C.; grandchildren, Connor Stokes and Brylee Stokes, and seven great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Pleasant was preceded in death by her parents and husband listed above and a brother, George Hammond Ross, Jr.
The family received friends on Sunday, June 29, 2014 at Kiser Funeral Home in Cheraw. A funeral service was held on Monday, June 30, 2014 at St. David's Episcopal Church in Cheraw. Burial followed in Old St. David's Cemetery.
