MEG BANNICK

Meg Bannick, 47, of Spring Lake Heights, passed away Friday Aug. 13, 2010 at Jersey Shore Medical Center with her family and friends by her side after a long illness. Meg grew up in Spring Lake with a large family and lots of friends. She began her career at a young age of 13 working at Jean Louise Candies and eventually became owner in 1992. After defeating cancer, numerous surgeries and other health problems she is known for being an amazingly strong, caring and positive woman, who will be missed by everyone.
She can now be reunited with her son, Bobby; her parents, Edward and Barbara Gunning; sister-in-law, Sherri Gunning. Meg is survived by her husband, Robert and her daughters, Barbara and Brittany and loving cocker spaniel, Sandigirl; sisters, Tara, Kelly, Colleen, Tracey and Barbara; her brothers, Dan, Mark, Brian, Sean and Michael; Nieces, Barbara, Catherine, Jenny, Julia and Samantha; her Nephews, Matthew, Chris and Mark and her mother-in-law, Diane.

I remember Meg was washing windows at Jean Louise Candies. She then started waiting on customers and went on to own the business.

Meg was always so sweet and smiling at Jean Louise Candies, even when it got hectic during the holidays! I remember her especially when the holidays approach and I think of the chocolates that I would buy!

Meg became a good friend when I worked with her at Jeanne Louise Candies. She was willing to help me learn the different chocolate designs on the candies. I still think of her even though I’ve moved away.

Dear Robert, Barbara and Brittany and Family,
There are not enough words in the world to express the impact Megsy had on so many people, born with a heart of gold, she represented a quality of humanity and compassion that you cant learn from any book or the highest level of any education ,a humbleness and selflessness that knew no bounds, this was Megsy She only had to go by one name, like Elvis or Cher, if you were in Spring Lake and you didnt know who Megsy was you werent in town.Megsy was with out a doubt OUR town jewel. Always a smile, no matter what she was enduring she sufferd far more than any other woman I will ever know or anyone should every have to,one could only wish to possess an ounce of the courage and wisdom that came so naturally to her.The cancer that so cruely took her beautiful eye, the loss of a handsome boy which broke her heart beyond repair it never took her beautiful spirit,Meg,still saw everyone and every situation as if she had a million eyes.Always putting everyone before herself,"The Little Red-Headed Girl",from Monmouth Ave,was a true gift to us all,an honor to call friend, and for that we are truly blessed. We love you Megsy.Love Brian,Liz,Olivia,Charlie and Daphne Nesnay.
