Delilia J. Sasso
AGE: 71 • Toms River
Delilia J. Sasso, 71, of Toms River, passed on Monday, April 8, 2013 after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer at Ocean Medical Center, Brick. Born in Eagle Butte, SD, she lived in Brooklyn and Iceland before moving to Toms River in 1966. Delilia served in the US Navy, she worked for the Asbury Park Press for 26 years.
She is predeceased by her husband, Robert who passed in 2001. She is survived by her mother, Lucille Berndt of Eagle Butte, SD; sons, Robert and his wife Amy of Robbinsville, Edward & Tiffany of Toms River and her daughter, Laura Sasso of Oshkosh, Wisconsin; her grandchildren, Rick & Taylor O'Donnell, Gabriella, Julia & Isabella Sasso. She has three brothers, Robert, Elmer & Ted Berndt; her sister, Maryann Zann and her sister-in-law, Rita Sasso.
Visiting will be Thursday from 4 - 8 pm at the Silverton Memorial Funeral Home, 2482 Church Rd, Toms River. Services Thursday 7:00 pm at the Funeral Home, interment Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please encourage a loved one to have a mammogram and be tested for cancer. www.silvertonmemorial.com

Your wonderful smile and generous and kind self wll be very much missed! Thanks for all of the fun oiver the years-the pop corn balls on Halloween and visiting me on weekends when I was little and you called me "The Munchkin" =)
