Robert B. "Bob" Murphy Sr.

Robert B. "Bob" Murphy Sr., 80, of Farmingdale, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013, at Brandywine Senior Living at Colts Neck. Robert was born in Neptune and was a lifelong resident of Farmingdale. He retired from Exxon Oil, Linden as a Delivery Supervisor in 1985. Bob, an avid Nascar and Dallas Cowboy fan was an exempt member of the Farmingdale Fire Company and a member of the 1st United Methodist Church of Farmingdale for over 50 years and U.S. Navy veteran having served his country during the Korean War.
Robert was predeceased by his wife, Rose M. Murphy in 2003. He is survived by a son, Robert B. Murphy Jr. and his wife, JoAnn of Farmingdale; a daughter, Barbara A. MacKenzie of Farmingdale; four grandchildren, Stacey Murphy, Colleen Foran, Rob Murphy III, and Michael MacKenzie; and three great-grandchildren, Paul Lampe, Mackenzie Foran and Michael Foran.
Visiting from 2 to 4 p.m. & 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013 at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township. Friends and relatives are invited to attend his funeral service at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013 at the funeral home with Rev. George N. Zigich officiating. Interment in Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold Township. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mr. Murphy's memory may be made to Farmingdale Fire Dept., PO Box 132, Farmingdale, NJ 07727.
