Suzanne Bacon

Suzanne Bacon, 82, most recently of Lakewood, passed away Sunday, Jan. 30, 2011, at Laurelton Village Care Center, Brick. Born in Plainfield, she spent most of her life in Westfield before moving to Sea Girt in 1973. After living in Sea Girt for over 25 years, she moved to Leisure Village in Lakewood 10 years ago. Suzanne worked for 25 years at Jersey Shore Medical Center, starting in 1975 as a secretary in the Mental Health Department and later retiring as the Personal Assistant to the Medical Director of the hospital. Her lifelong passion was singing.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Elizabeth Jane Bacon, in 1983; her parents, Samuel Alfred Saunders and Amelia Bastable; sister, Jane Myers; brother, Clason Saunders; and sister, Amelia Smith. She is survived by her daughter, Bobbie-Sue Bacon; son, Jon B. Bacon and his wife Nancy; son, Charles S. Bacon; son, R. Clason Bacon; five grandchildren; and 10 nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 5 at St. Uriel's Episcopal Church, 219 Philadelphia Blvd., Sea Girt. Interment will follow at Atlantic View Cemetery, Manasquan. I have very fond memories of working in the Mental Health Center with Sue and together we shared many fun lunches! She was a lovely person and I remember her passion for singing opera with a company at the Paramount Theater. May she rest in peace and reunite with her beloved, Betsy.

Mrs. Bacon made a difference; she was a good example & she will be missed. Thank God for her and her joy-filled reunion with her daughter Betsy. They have both left blessings in this world.

Mrs.Bacon was a great mom.Very brave and kind.I will miss her being here,but I am glad that she will be back with her girl.
