Finan, John R. "Jack" - 77, Whiting  
John R "Jack" Finan AGE: 77 • Whiting John R. Finan died peacefully at Riverview Medical Center on Sunday December 21st, 2014. He was born in the Bronyx, NY on January 18th, 1937. He was a long time resident of the Port Monmouth section of Middletown, NJ. He was a member of Teamsters Local 701 New Brunswick driving for Eastern Express and Carolina Freight Carriers. He served his country in the US Marine Corps. He was a graduate of Brookdale Community College & Rutgers University earning a BS. He coached CYO basketball and the boys 7th and 8th grade elementary school team for over 25 years at St. Catherine's parish in Middletown, NJ. After retirement from Carolina Freight he purchased a 20 acre farm in Marshfield, MO where he lived for 10 years raising cows and enjoying the country life with his wife Bev and dogs Jake & Teddy. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #10844 and received his Fourth Degree Knighthood of Pope St. Pius X Assembly 1877 in Springfield, MO. He most recently resided in Whiting, NJ and was a parishioner of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. He was an active member of the Toms River Fitness Center where he had many friends. He was a lifelong diehard NY Giants football fan. He is survived by his wife of 57 years Beverly and his four daughters Gail Compton, Nancy Schanck and her husband John, Cathy Whiteman and John Spall, Lori Kernan and her husband Edward. His grandchildren Daniel Whiteman and Kayla, Michelle Djamoos and her husband Anton, Jennifer Donoso and her husband Michael, Amanda Whiteman, Kelly Compton, Matthew Schanck, Michael Compton, Evan, Emily and Brady Kernan. His great grandchildren Brody Whiteman, Ryan Compton, Annabel Donoso, and Anthony Whiteman, along with his loving dog Charlie. Also survived by his siblings Lorraine Jensen, Maxine Kuczko and her husband Ray, Joan Deponte and her husband Vincent, Dennis Finan and his wife Kathy, James Finan, and Clarisse Jeleniewski and her husband John. Also by his Uncle Donald Finan and his wife Emma. He was predeceased by his parents John B. Finan and Florence Finan Bulmer, and his brother Steve Finan. Visitation will be held Friday, December 26, 2014, 2-4 & 7-9 pm at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Road, Middletown. A Funeral Liturgy will be offered Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 9:30 am at St. Catherine's Church, 110 Bray Ave., N. Middletown. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. Daniel Fasano Asbury Park Daniel Fasano, born on June 4th 1992, died suddenly in his Asbury Park home on December 18th. Daniel radiated a powerful kindness immediately felt by those fortunate enough to be in his presence. He often dedicated this kindness to friends and family, for whom he would always have time and always offer an empathetic ear. His intuition, as well as his compassion, allowed Daniel to withhold all judgments and accept everyone. He selflessly loved both people and animals. An avid snowboarder, he enthusiastically met the challenges of the outdoors. He was also a meticulous person, expressing himself in his unique fashion sense. But above all, Daniel was humorous, loving, and playful, gifting laughter and joy to others in his wake. He is survived by his parents, Terry and Patrick, his brother Patrick, his sister Anna, and a large extended family. Visitation will be held at Buckley Funeral Home, 509 Second Avenue, Asbury Park on Sunday, December 21st from 1-4pm, with a Service at 3:30pm. Interment will be private. Finan, Kathleen E. - 68, Monroe Township  
Kathleen E. Finan AGE: 68 • Monroe Township Kathleen E. Finan, 68, of Monroe Township passed away peacefully with her loved ones by her side on December 16, 2014. Born in Newark to the late Francis and Muriel Finan, Kathleen grew up in Edison, lived in North Brunswick before moving to Monroe. She worked for AT&T for many years and was a parishioner of Our Lady of Peace in North Brunswick and was a member in several clubs at Rossmor. Kathleen enjoyed gardening, making jewelry, crocheting for charity and taking care of her cat "Princess". She was a loving sister, aunt and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Kathleen is predeceased by her parents Francis M. Finan Sr. and Muriel Finan Glover. She leaves behind her three sisters, Kris Neiss, Karen Sloane and husband Ed, Maureen Pisano; her brother, Frank Finan, Jr., and 7 nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, December 18, 2014, 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the Old Bridge Funeral Home, located 2350 Route 516, Old Bridge NJ 08857. A funeral mass will be held at 12 noon on Friday, December 19, 2014 at Our Lady of Peace Church located at 277 Washington Place, North Brunswick, NJ 08902. Interment will follow at Resurrection Burial Park in Piscataway. Shirley A. Fletcher AGE: 79 • Jackson Shirley A. Fletcher, 79, of Jackson passed away December 16, 2014 at Community Medical Center, Toms River. Shirley was a clerk typist for De Laval Steam Turbine Co. before retiring. Born in Trenton, she resided in Hamilton Square before moving to Jackson in 2000. Shirley was a parishioner of Capital Assembly of God Church, Hamilton. Shirley loved and lived for her family. She was predeceased by her son Clayton Fletcher. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years Steve; her son Matthew of Levittown, PA.; her daughter Laura Fletcher Pruett of Buford, GA.; her sister Patricia DiPaola of Cream Ridge; 8 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and many nieces & nephews. Fliger, Mina Hyjek (Philomina) - Asbury Park  
Mina (Philomina) Hyjek Fliger Tintons Falls Mina (Philomina) Hyjek Fliger entered eternal life on December 14, 2014. She was born at St. Michael's Hospital, Newark, NJ, and lived most of her life on Long Beach Island and in West Long Branch, NJ. Mina attended Southern Regional High School and graduated from Trenton State College, now The College of New Jersey, with a BS degree in Health and Physical Education. She taught at both Beach Haven and Barnegat Elementary Schools in these areas. After receiving certifications as Teacher of the Handicapped and Remedial Reading Specialist, Mina obtained her MS degree in Special Education from Monmouth University. She continued on to achieve her Masters plus 40 credits and obtained her Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant and Supervisory certifications from both Monmouth and Georgian Court Universities. Initially, Director of Special Services at Beach Haven Elementary School, Mina accepted the position as Director of Special Services in the Oceanport School System. She was well known for her superior ability to advocate for and meet the individual needs of the students entrusted to her care. Her flawless managerial skills contributed to the proper placement and success of each of her pupils. Mina will be dearly missed and remembered for her profound love of God, family, and country and her generous spirit. She was an outstanding wife, mother, daughter, sister, and aunt and a caring friend to those in need. Mina frequently gave anonymously to others never seeking recognition for her deeds. She was the wind beneath the wings of her family and a dynamic presence in the lives of those she touched. Mina was a member of Phi Delta Kappa, the American Association of School Administrators, and the Learning Disabilities Association. As a young woman, she excelled in all sports and especially enjoyed fishing, boating, and surfing. She usually was the only one aboard the boat who would catch the only or biggest fish. Mina was predeceased by her father, John J. Hyjek. She is survived by her beloved mother, Catherine (Katie) F. Hyjek; her husband, Robert; her son, Lt. Cmdr. Neal A. Corbin and his wife, Christine; her sister, Tanya H. Scully, and her husband John; her nephew, John Scully; her uncle, Dr. F.X. Falivene; and several cousins and relatives. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial offered at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Asbury Park, NJ, on Saturday, December 20, 2014, at 10:00 a.m., followed by interment at Woodbine Cemetery, Oceanport, NJ. Donations in Mina's name may be made to Learning Disabilities Association of America, 4156 Library Rd., Pittsburgh, PA 15234 ( ldaamerica.org ). Richard Antonio Forcellati AGE: 36 • Wall Richard A. Forcellati, 36, of Wall, passed away on December 19, 2014 surrounded by the love of his family and friends. Born to devoted parents Luigi & Beatrice, Rich attended Bergen Catholic before earning his Computer Science Degree from Marist College. Rich was the consummate "techie" who loved being the one his family and friends came to for help. He loved to laugh, make others laugh, and was truly inspiring to be around. Although ALS has taken him from this world, it could never conquer his spirit - a spirit that will live on with all who knew him. Richard is survived by his devoted parents, Luigi & Beatrice; his brother Paul & his wife Nicole and their children Tessa, Gia and Dante; many loving relatives and dear friends; and certainly not least, Rich leaves his best friend Cooper, who was always there by his side.
