Robert F. Granat AGE: 83 • Port Reading Robert F. Granat, 83 of Port Reading, passed away Friday July 31st at JFK Medical Center, Edison. Born in Perth Amboy, Robert resided in Port Reading. He served his country during the Korean War in the Navy. He was a member of the SeaBees MCB-1 unit and later worked for Bell Telephone as a switch man before retiring. Robert is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Phyllis, his children, Thomas Granat and his wife Cheryl, Nancy Perrotti and her husband Vito, Joyce James, Patricia Barnes and her husband Donald, 10 grandchildren, Leah, Stacey and Ryan Granat, Michael and David Perrotti, Emily, Eric and Corinne Nollet, Jake and Wyatt Barnes and a great-grand daughter Abigail Winchell. Funeral services will begin at 9am on Wednesday Aug. 5th from the CHUBENKO FUNERAL HOME 625 Port Reading Ave., Port Reading followed by 9:30am Mass of Resurrection at St. Anthony of Padua Church, Port Reading with entombment at St. James Cemetery, Woodbridge. Graziano, Virginia R. - Edison  
Virginia R. Graziano AGE: 85 • Edison Virginia R. Graziano, 85, died on Friday, July 31, 2015 in the Roosevelt Care Center in Edison. Virginia was born in Jersey City, was raised in Palisades Park and lived in Edison for many years. She was a member of the Metuchen Garden Club and volunteered at JFK Medical Center. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 6061 and served as an officer of the Kiwanis Club. She is predeceased by her parents, Bertram and Mary; her husband of 35 years, Joseph J. Graziano in 1989; a brother, Bertram and a sister, Irene. Virginia is survived by her daughter, JoAnn Thompson and her husband Stewart of Milltown; her three sons, James and his wife Judith of Metuchen, Joseph and his and his wife Doreen of Beth Page, LI, NY and John and his wife Julia of Washington Twp, NJ; and 9 grandchildren, Daniel, Kathryn, Joseph, Brian, Jennifer, Sean, Justin, Evan, and Laura. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at 10am in the Costello-Runyon Funeral Home, 568 Middlesex Avenue (Rt. 27) Metuchen. Interment will be private at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 7-9pm. Florence M. Gardella AGE: 82 • Lavallette Private funeral services were held Saturday, August 1, 2015, for Florence M. (nee: Zetkulic) Gardella, 82, of Lavallette, who passed peacefully on Monday, July 27, 2015 at the Haven Hospice Unit of the JFK Medical Center, Edison. She was born in Perth Amboy and had resided in Lavallette for the last 20 years. Florence was a graduate of Perth Amboy High School, with the Class of 1951. She was a very fine homemaker, a very loving and kind person and shall always be remembered as a most gracious host at her many family gatherings. Florence leaves behind her beloved husband of 59 years, John Gardella, her three beloved children, Robert Gardella, Sr. and his wife Donna of Avenel, David Gardella, Sr. and his wife, Arlene of Carteret and Carol Schwartz and her husband, Eric of Woodbridge, her six grandchildren, David, Jr., Steven, Diana and Robert Gardella, Jr. and Jake and Joe Schwartz, her 3 great grandchildren, David, III, Riley and Addison, her brother, Joseph Zetkulic of Brant Beach, and several nieces and nephews. Gonzalez-Gandolfi, Marcos - 58, Bridgewater  
Marcos Gonzalez-Gandolfi AGE: 58 • Bridgewater Marcos Gonzalez-Gandolfi passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at his home in Bridgewater, NJ, accompanied by his family and friends. He was 58 years old. He was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and lived in Colombia and Indonesia before coming to the United States in 1965. Along with his family, he lived many years in Rye Brook, NY, before moving away for college in Canada. He relocated back to NY after graduation and settled in Bridgewater a few years later. Marcos began his thirty-year career at Siemens in 1985 as an engineer designing control systems that managed Heating and Ventilation systems of commercial buildings. In 1994 he went into the field as a Service Account Engineer managing service agreements at many large pharmaceutical sites in New Jersey. Since 2001, when he became a Project Manager, Marcos managed the installations of Building Automation control systems and continued overseeing several large service accounts. He was well liked and respected by colleagues and clients. Marcos graduated from the United Nations International School in 1975 where he earned the School's U Thant Scholar Award in recognition for his contributions embodying the principles of the UN charter. He then studied at Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. Music was important throughout his life, playing the trumpet in his earlier years and always living his passion for classical music. He was also an avid ballroom dancer in partnership with his wife Patrical. Marcos loved to travel, to explore new places, to socialize with the locals and enjoy new foods and cultures. He particularly enjoyed his recent trips to Alaska, La Scala in Milan, and Graceland in Memphis. For the past 15 years he traveled to Europe and to the Rockies with the High Life Ski Club and with a group of friends who shared the love of skiing and traveling. He was also a member of the Morris Area Freewheelers and enjoyed riding his bicycle with friends. He was a Certified Pilot and enjoyed touring on his motorcycle. He had a passion for all mechanical things, in particular cars, motorcycles and airplanes. Marcos loved to help others in need. He volunteered as a Big Brother in the Catholic Charities Connections Program and took much pride in mentoring his Little Brother through frequent weekend activities. Everyone that knew Marcos could always count on him to make things better. Mr. Gonzalez-Gandolfi was pre-deceased by his Father, Alberto Gonzalez Gandolfi, former Chief of Building and Planning for the United Nations; his mother Maria Leonor Gonzalez Gandolfi; his sister, Gloria Gonzalez Gandolfi Sardou; and his nephew, Sebastian Salcedo. He is survived by his beloved wife, Patrical Leung; his sisters, Luz Maria Gonzalez-Salcedo and her husband Estanislao of Somerset, NJ, Diana Gonzalez Gandolfi and her husband Daniel Wolfson of Highland Park, NJ; his brother, Pablo Gonzalez-Gandolfi and his wife Ping Xiao Gonzalez of Woodinville, WA; his lifelong friend, Tunc Kulur and his wife Gail of Hillsborough; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Matthew and Edith Burvett; his nieces, Malvina, Serena and Chrissy; his nephews Julian, Lorenzo and Andres; his grand-niece Ella; his many relatives in Argentina and Chile. The family will greet friends and family on Friday, August 7 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at the Gleason Funeral Home, 1360 Hamilton Street, Somerset NJ 08873. A memorial mass will take place on Saturday, August 8 at 10:30 AM at St. Matthias Church, 170 John F. Kennedy Blvd., Somerset NJ 08873. Barbara Sadowski Gallagher AGE: 65 • Forked River Barbara Sadowski Gallagher, 65, of Forked River (formerly of Matawan) passed away peacefully on July 25, 2015 at Southern Ocean County Medical Center with family by her side. Barbara was predeceased by her parents, Stanley & Anna Sadowski of Matawan. She leaves behind her son, Michael; sister & brother-in-law, Bernice & Robert Kopcho, Sr.; nephew, Robert Kopcho, Jr.; two nieces, Debbie Borden & Lorna Jean Kopcho and two great-nephews, Brian & Tim Borden. Barb was a graduate of Matawan Regional High School. She worked in the accounting department of Lawn Doctor, Inc. and was very active in the St. Joseph's Elementary School PTA in Keyport. Laureano "Larry" O. Garmany AGE: 62 • Colts Neck Laureano O. "Larry" Garmany, of Colts Neck, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at the age of 62. He was surrounded by many who adored and cherished him in a love filled hospital room of the Jersey Shore University Medical Center. Larry was born in Vazquez, Oriente, Cuba and fled his native country at a young age for the land of hopes and dreams. Larry's dream and life's work, Garmany in Red Bank, is one of his proudest accomplishments. His love of life was contagious. Larry will be greatly missed by his wife, Angeles; his son, Johnell with his wife Stefanie; his daughter, Vanessa with her husband Rafael; his five grandchildren, three sisters and his mother, Blanca Garcia Amado. James A. Garvin Jr. AGE: 65 • Eatontown James A. Garvin, 65, passed away at home after a long illness on Saturday, July 25, 2015. Born in Jersey City, he moved to Keansburg in 1960 with his family. He was a graduate of Middletown High School and served a year in the United States Army. A professional driver by trade, he worked for various trucking, bus and most recently, limousine service companies. He was predeceased by his parents James A. Garvin Sr. and Beatrice I. (Altano) Garvin. He is survived by his children, James Garvin, Hazlet and Kelly Roman (Jason), Eatontown; four grandchildren, Olivia and Jimmy Garvin, Nicholas and Sofia Roman and two sisters, Margaret Nordyke, GA and Cheryl West, Monroe Twsp. Born in Rahway to the late Dominic Ameglio and Concetta (Botti), Yolanda resided in Dunellen for over 58 years. She worked as a School Secretary for Green Brook and Dunellen Public schools before her retirement in 1990. She was a communicant of St. John's Church, the Altar Rosary Society, and Dunellen Elks Aux. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Yolanda is predeceased by her loving husband Adolph (2012.) She is survived by her 3 sons; Arthur and companion Mary Bassett of NorthBorough, Mass., Charles and daughter-in-law Nancy of Whitehouse Station, and David and his wife Rhonda of Fleming Island, FL, and 4 Grandchildren; Grant, Kyle, Emily and Robert and their spouses.
