Gloria Ruth Sheplin AGE: 91 • Budd Lake Gloria Ruth Sheplin of Budd Lake, New Jersey passed away peacefully on April 28th at age 91 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Jersey City and lived in New York City before moving permanently to Budd Lake over 70 years ago. Mrs. Sheplin worked for New Jersey Bell before becoming a homemaker. Known as "Aunt Go or GoGo," she enjoyed spending time with her family the most. She spent summers on her beloved Long Beach Island and wintered in the Florida Keys. She loved her family, the ocean, and traveling with her husband of 70 years, Bernard (Shep). She is survived by her husband; loving son, Daniel and his wife, Kathy of Harvey Cedars; grandsons, Justin and his wife Paige and Matthew and his fiancé, Chloe Wiskow; sisters, Edna (Patricia) Anderson of Asheville, NC, and Mildred Smith and husband, Richard of NYC; nieces and nephews, Anne Dutton, Maureen Mertz (MacDougall), Edna Boone Temaner, Trisha Trinite', David, Joe, and Mark Anderson, along with many loving great-nieces, great-nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Gloria's Caregiver, Patricia. A celebration of her life will be held at St. James Episcopal Church on Monday May 9, 2016, at 12 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her memory to St. James Episcopal Church, 214 Washington Street, Hackettstown, NJ 07840. Sideck, Ann M. - 93, South Plainfield  
Ann M. Sideck AGE: 93 • South Plainfield Ann M. Sideck, 93, died on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at JFK Haven Hospice in Edison. Born in Kaska, Pa, Ann resided in South Plainfield for most of her life. She worked for Bell Telephone, General Motors in Linden making parts for airplanes during WWII and Cornell Dubilier in South Plainfield prior to the full time job of raising her two children. A communicant of Sacred Heart RC Church in South Plainfield, Ann was one of the original members of the Rosary Society. She enjoyed cooking and baking, and was known for her apple pies. She is predeceased by her husband of 67 years John F. Sideck, who died in July of 2012, and ten siblings. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law; Jon and Harriet Sideck of South Plainfield, David and Jan Sideck of Camp Hill PA, three grandchildren; Lesley Sideck of South Plainfield, Colleen Sideck and Mark Sideck of Camp Hill, PA, and a sister Florence O'Neil of Westfield, NJ. Funeral services will be held on Saturday May 7, 2016 at 9AM in the McCriskin-Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ ( www.mccriskinfuneralhome.com ) followed by a 10 AM funeral mass in Sacred Heart RC Church, South Plainfield. Interment will follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery. Family and friends may attend the visitation hours on Friday from 4-8 PM in the funeral home. Thomas M. Skalski Sr. AGE: 76 • Forked River Thomas M. Skalski, Sr., age 76, of Forked River, passed away on April 30, 2016. Born in the Bronx. Devoted Father of Thomas M. Skalski, Jr., Dawn M. DeCristofaro, Darren M. Skalski, and Jeffery M. Skalski. Loving Grandfather of nine Grandchildren. Dear Brother of Matthew Skalski, Dorothy Ellen, and the late Francis Skalski. Lillian E. Stahoski AGE: 82 • Branchburg Lillian E. Stahoski, 82, of Branchburg passed away Wednesday May 4, 2016 at home. She was a Dietary Aid for the Eastern Star Nursing Home in Bridgewater. Lillian was predeceased by her husband John A. Stahoski in July 2013, and a son John A. Stahoski, Jr. in July 1960. She is survived by her children, Sharon Oiler of Manville, NJ, Karen Winters and son-in-law Kris of Flagtown, NJ, Allen C. Stahoski and daughter-in-law Susanne of Hillsborough, NJ; Grandchildren Ronald Oiler and wife Heather of Flemington, NJ, Matthew Oiler and wife Shannon of Branchburg, NJ, Stanley Frankenfield and wife Stephanie of Neshanic Station, NJ, Allen J. Standiford, Elizabeth "Betty" - 80, Denver, Co  
Elizabeth "Betty" Standiford AGE: 80 • Denver, CO Elizabeth "Betty" Standiford died peacefully on April 28, 2016 in Denver, Co. Betty was born September 12, 1935 in Nijmegen, Holland, and, as a child, witnessed the "Liberation" of her hometown by the Paratroopers of the 82nd Airborne Division, freeing them from the German occupiers. When Betty was 12 years old, her father and mother, Francis and Elizabeth Schretlen, moved with her to Staten Island, NY to begin a new life. She went to Notre Dame Academy and then Wagner College. She married Richard Charlton and they moved to Branchburg, NJ, where they raised their 6 children on a small farm. She was extremely active in her children's schooling and became President of the PTO. She earned her Master's Degree in Social Work from Rutgers University while she was in her 40s and studied at the Catholic Biblical School in Denver. She spent many years volunteering in schools, her church, The Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum and the Catholic Worker House. She also helped many others in her social work career. She married Dick Standiford in 1992 and moved to Cheyenne, WY and then retired in Denver, CO. Betty loved quilting, flowers, reading, music, traveling and laughing with Dick, and also playing with her grandchildren. She was a woman of strong faith and completed her faith journey by walking hundreds of miles on the El Camino de Santiago in Spain in the last year of her life. Her infectious smile and laughter will be missed. Betty is preceded in death by her beloved husband Dick Standiford, her parents and 7 siblings; Frank, Eddie, Henry, Mary, Celine, Agnes and Bluffy. She is survived by her loving children; Richard, Mark (Bettina), Danny (Angelique), Stephen and John Charlton and daughter Lucy (Moula) Tayane; 9 cherished grandchildren; Richard, Matthew, Zachariah, Alexandra, John, Elizabeth, Samantha, Andrew and Gabrielle; 2 loving sisters; Helen Callan and Jossy Eyre, 2 dear step-children; Richard B. IV (Judy) and Steve (Geneva) Standiford, along with many loving nieces, nephews and friends. Her funeral will be held on Saturday May 7 at 9:00 AM at Notre Dame Academy, Staten Island. She'll be laid to rest in St. Mary's Cemetery. Marilyn G. Switlyk AGE: 84 • Atlantic Highlands Marilyn G. Switlyk, 84, of Atlantic Highlands, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on May 3, 2016 at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank. She was born Marilyn Gibbs on January 25, 1932 in Jamaica, Queens, NY, where she grew up, in addition to, Newark. In 1955, she moved to Somerville. Marilyn also lived in Lebanon for a period of time, and most recently settled in Atlantic Highlands in 2009. She was predeceased by her parents, Walter and Mary (Smith) Gibbs, her beloved husband, George Switlyk, and her dear siblings, Kenneth Gibbs, Elizabeth Domanski, and Virginia Svec. Marilyn is survived by her loving children, Catherine S. Cardinale and her husband, Gary, of Hillsborough, George A. Switlyk and his wife, Coco, of Wellington, FL, John J. Switlyk and his wife, Lisa, of Westfield, Mary Jane Switlyk of Metuchen, Grace S. Dakoglou of Leonardo, Paul M. Switlyk of Atlantic Highlands, and James A. Switlyk and his wife, Amy, of Lebanon. Marilyn is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Genevieve Weinkle and her husband, Spencer, Melissa Palomares and her husband, Andrew, Anna Marks and her husband, Will, Zachary Butts, Matthew, Victoria, Jeremy, Sarah, and Maxwell Switlyk, and Elias Dakoglou, along with her adored great grandson, Leo Weinkle, and many special nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. She will be sadly missed, but never forgotten. Simon, Victor J. - 87, Berkeley Township  
Victor J. Simon AGE: 87 • Berkeley Township Victor J. Simon, age 87, of the Silver Ridge Park West section of Berkeley Township died on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at home, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Orange, NJ he lived there and in Irvington before settling in Silver Ridge Park West. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Simon was a Salesman for over 42 years for Kraft Foods, Hillside, and was a United States Army Veteran of World War II. Mr. Simon was extremely involved in the Fords Clara Barton Boys Baseball League as a coach and as an officer. He was also involved in the Fords Youth Association, and was a sponsor of the Bearcat Football and served as president of the Girls Softball League. He later served as the President of the Central Jersey Pop Warner. As a husband and a father, he will truly be missed. He was predeceased by his son, Stephen Simon, in 2015; his granddaughter, Elizabeth Rozek in 2014; and his sister, Norma. Surviving are his wife, Dorothy; his children, Victor Simon III and his wife Darlene of Aberdeen, Cathy Rozek and her husband Andrew of Jackson, Carl Simon of Williamsburg, VA, and Curt Simon and his wife Nancy of Red Bank; and his grandchildren, Michelle, Samantha, Christopher and Daniel. Visitation will be on Friday 2-5pm, with funeral service at 5pm at Horizon Funeral and Cremation Services, 1329 Route 37 West, Toms River. Cremation will be private. George G. Schmid AGE: 86 • Hillsborough George G. Schmid, 86 died on Saturday April 30th at his home in Hillsborough. He was born and raised in Kearney, NJ and had lived in Michigan and Bridgewater before settling in Hillsborough in 1954. George was a Navy veteran who served in the Korean War. George worked as a carpenter for many years for Taggart International. He was a member of the Hillsborough Senior Citizens Chapter B and the Hillsborough VFW. He enjoyed fishing and watching baseball especially his beloved Red Sox. He was predeceased by his son in law Stephen. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Irene M. (Viggiano) Schmid, his 2 daughters, Dawn Grippo of Maryland and Debbie Clogher and her husband Richard of Ireland, his grandchildren, Alanna, Richard and Ella. Visiting for family and friends will be Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 in the Hillsborough Funeral Home, 796 US Hwy 206, Hillsborough. Cremation will be private.

Hedwig Semliatschenko AGE: 92 • Red Bank Hedwig Semliatschenko, 92, of Red Bank passed away at Riverview Medical Center on Friday, April 29, 2016. She was born in Tremena, Italy and moved to Red Bank in 1951. She was a seamstress and enjoyed gardening. Most of all, Hedwig loved spending time with her family. She is predeceased by her husband, Nicholai Semliatschenko in 1972. Surviving are her four loving children, John and his wife Maria, Boris and his wife Gayle, Helmut and his wife Bernice and Maria Semliatschenko. Also surviving are her beloved grandchildren, Bryan, Aaron, Lindsey, Dominic, Dawn, and Garry, and her great grandchildren; Paul, Roman, Benjamin, and Ashliee. Arrangements have been entrusted to the John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Avenue, Red Bank, NJ 07701. A Memorial Service will take place at a later date.
