DiMele, Joseph - 77, Bridgewater  
Joseph DiMele AGE: 77 • Bridgewater Joseph was born in Italy and formerly of Green Brook before moving to Bridgewater in 1992. He was employed as meat cutter at Pathmark Supermarket in North Plainfield for over 35 years, retiring in 2007. In his early years he owned Joes's Barber Shop in Dunellen. Joseph was a communicant of St. Brigid Church in Peapack. He was a member of the Italian Club in Newark and was a member of Local 464 A Union where he was the Shop-Stewart for Pathmark Supermarket. He enjoyed spending time at casinos and was an NY Giants football fan. Joseph will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Shirley, his son Joseph Jr., his daughter Maria DiMele Lease her husband John, a brother Pasquale Mule, two sisters Angela Parisi and Annette Innaccio and two grandchildren Maximilian and Sebastian Lease. Prayers will be said 9am Thursday at the Bruce C.Van Arsdale Funeral Home, 111N. Gaston Ave, Somerville followed by a 10am mass at St.Brigid Roman Catholic Church,129 Main St. Peapack. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Basking Ridge. Visitation will be 2-4pm and 7-9pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Doolittle, Claire A. - 83, Lakewood  
Claire A. Doolittle AGE: 83 • Lakewood Claire A. (Duryea) Doolittle, age 83, of Lakewood, passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2015, at Willow Springs Rehabilitation Center, Brick. Born in Irvington, she lived in Irvington, Maplewood, Millburn, and Ft. Myers Beach, FL prior to moving to Lakewood 10 years ago. Devoted wife and mother, she actively participated in all her family's many activities along with serving as president of the Ft. Myer's Beach Woman's Club. She enjoyed the beach, oil painting, sewing and crossword puzzles. Her coffee cake was amazing! Claire is survived by her husband of 67 years, Gerald W. Doolittle; two sons Robert L. Doolittle and his wife Cindy of Manasquan, and William J. Doolittle and his wife Patty of Brielle; two daughters Janet Kohler of Longwood, FL and Joan Doolittle of Brick; one brother Ronald Duryea of Arizona; ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A private memorial will be held at a later date.

John Joseph DeCataldo AGE: 63 • Galloway John Joseph DeCataldo, 63 of Galloway New Jersey passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side, on May 29, 2015. He was born in Staten Island New York on July 4, 1951. John married the love of his life Darlene Hollywood in 1974, and together they had three children. John was a hardworking man starting as a short order cook and moving on to become a New York City Police Officer for a short time. He worked for Procter & Gamble for 15 years before starting his career as a Radiologic Technologist. John and Darlene moved to Manalapan New Jersey to raise their family in a home filled with love and laughter. John was an avid NY Yankee fan, who became active in the community Little League where he made lifelong friends. He was also an outstanding cook with several homegrown signature dishes and loved cooking for his family and friends. But, most of all John loved spending time with his loving wife, children, and grandchildren. John is survived by Darlene, his adoring wife of over 40 years, his three children John, and his wife Eliette, Diane, and her husband Nicholas Lauro and his youngest son Todd and his girlfriend Dena Gitto. He is the very proud Pop-Pop to five wonderful grandchildren who will miss him dearly as he was a loving part of their lives: Caitlyn, Connor, Daniela, John Patrick and Olivia. He is also survived by his mother Marion, nine brothers and sisters: Frank, Mary, Patricia, Eileen, Susan, Kathleen, Virgina, Thomas and Michael. His father Frank and brother Peter predeceased him. Deitrick, Henry T. "Buddy" - 61, Raritan  
Henry T. "Buddy" Deitrick AGE: 61 • Raritan Henry T. "Buddy" Deitrick, 61, died May 28, 2015. Buddy was born in New Brunswick, NJ, he was the son of the late Julia and Joseph Deitrick. He was formerly of North Plainfield and Plainfield before moving to Raritan in 1988. He was currently the manager of the property at Fullerton Auto Group in Somerville for over 25 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed taking trips to Florida, Atlantic City, and Lass Vegas. He will be sadly missed by all. He is predeceased by his brothers, Donald and Roy Martin and a sister Loretta Bengivenga. Surviving are his brothers, Joseph, John and wife Judy and George, and wife Karen and his sisters, Julia Morales and husband Douglas, and Ann Cain and husband Bill, and nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews. Services will be private. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Arrangements by Bruce C. VanArsdale Funeral Home, 111 N. Gaston Ave., Somerville. Caroyln J. Dempsey AGE: 61 • Navesink Carolyn J Dempsey, age 61, of Atlantic Highlands died Friday, May 29, 2015 at home in Navesink with her husband and daughters at her side. Mrs. Dempsey was born in Long Branch, NJ and was a lifelong resident of Atlantic Highlands. She was employed by OLPH as an Art Teacher until the School merged with St. Agnes and then continued teaching at Mother Teresa Regional School until her retirement in 2011. She owns a home a in Mexico on the Yucatan Penninsula and had a real passion for the culture, art, and history of the Mayans She is survived by her husband: Mark Dempsey; her daughter Autumn and her husband Joseph Branin and daughter Shawna Dempsey; her father Fritz and mother Alice Hinze; and her adored grandson Max Dempsey; her sister Suzanne Moyer and brother James Hinze; and many other relatives and friends. Calling hours will be Tuesday, June 2 from 2-4 and 7-9 at John P. Condon Funeral Home LLC, 804 St. Hwy. #36, Leonardo, NJ. The funeral will be held 10:00 am on Wednesday, June 3 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Highlands. Cremation services will be private. Alfred H. Dotey III Alfred H. Dotey III went home to be with the Lord on May 28, 2015. Al served as a communications specialist for the USMC from 1975 to 1979, reaching the rank of E4 corporal. He was employed by Importico's, Inc. for 26 years. He is survived by a daughter Jennifer Clock (husband Richard) and their 5 children: Ricky, Hailey, Joshua, Noah, and Katelyn; brother Kevin Dotey (wife Jeane Dotey) and their two children Kyle and Ashley; his girlfriend Debbie Hawkins-Hardy and her two children Dana and Megan. A memorial service will be held at Somerset Bible Baptist Church, 42 Cedar Grove Lane, Somerset, NJ on Tues., June 2, 2015 at 7:30 PM. Al had personally requested in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to the veteran's organization of your choice in his honor.

Davis, Ernest Calvin - 91, Fords  
Ernest Calvin Davis AGE: 91 • Fords Ernest Calvin Davis, of Edison, died peacefully at home on May 28, 2015. He was 91 years old. Born in Perth Amboy, Ernie attended Perth Amboy High School. He resided in Fords with his family for 55 years. He worked in the Service Department at Elizabethtown Gas Company for 42 years. He was a parishioner of St. Peters Episcopal Church in Perth Amboy, where, as a boy, he sang in the choir with his cousins, Hugh and Neil Davis. Ernie was a proud WWII Navy Veteran. His rank was Carpenter's Mate, 3rd Class. He served on the USS President Adams in the Pacific, and earned the American Campaign Medal, the Asiatic & Pacific Campaign Medal with Star, the WWII Victory Medal and a Commendation Medal. Known as Ernie by friends and coworkers, his family and neighbors called him, "Cal." He was very devoted to his family and helped raise his grandsons after the untimely death of his son-in-law, John Lamont. He was a lifelong fan of the New York Yankees and New York Giants. Ernie was predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Irene Babinec Davis. He is survived by his daughter, Bonnie Davis Lamont, his grandson Christian Lamont and his wife, Danielle, his grandson Daniel Lamont and his wife, Kimberly, and four beautiful great-grandchildren Haley, Matthew, Nathaniel and Luke. Visitation will be on Sunday from 4:00-8:00 pm at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords, NJ 08863. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 9:30 am at the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 am Service of Requiem at St. Peters Episcopal Church, Perth Amboy. Rachel Ann Davis AGE: 102 • Middletown, RI Rachel Ann (Phifer) Davis, 102, of Middletown died Thursday, May 28, 2015 at Newport Hospital of Newport, RI. She was the wife of the late Howard C. Davis. Born on Sept. 30, 1912 in Van Hiseville, NJ, she was the daughter of the late John Lloyd and Mary Jane (Moore) Phifer. Mrs. Davis was a graduate of Lakewood High School and Rider College in Trenton, NJ. She worked seasonally for 5 to 6 years in the office for Ocean Spray in the accounting department. Mrs. Davis and her husband owned and operated a retail florist for 35 years, which eventually transitioned into a wholesale operation growing geraniums, standard mums and various bedding plants. She was the president of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Lakewood, NJ and a member of the Church in Brielle, Brielle, NJ. Mrs. Davis loved reading, needlework and especially tatting. She is survived by her daughter, Doris Jane Miller of Middletown, RI. She was the sister of the late George Hendricks Phifer. A graveside service will be held at 12 noon Wednesday, June 3, 2015 in Woodlawn Cemetery, 1400 Clifton Ave., Lakewood, NJ. Family and friends are invited to attend. Andrew T. D'Amico AGE: 84 • Lakewood Andrew T. D'Amico, 84, of Lakewood, passed on Monday, May 25, 2015 at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center. Born in Weehawken, he resided in Saddle Brook before moving to Lakewood in 1997. Andy was a Licensed Professional Engineer, who retired in 1993 from Singer, Kearfott Division, where he worked for many years. He served in the United States Navy as Electronics Technician Third Class during the Korean War; he was a devout Catholic and parishioner of St Dominic RC Church, Brick; a member of the UNICO, the Knights of Columbus, Four Seasons Italian American, Bocci, and Golf Clubs; and an avid nature lover. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Frances, his four children, Anthony and his wife Patricia, Denise and her husband Wayne Dreyer, Andrew Jr., and Paul and his partner Todd. He leaves behind his four grandchildren, Derrek & Jason Larkin, Andrew, Nicholas D'Amico, one great grandchild Tristan Larkin and his brother in law, Frank Ferraro, and many dear friends. He is predeceased by his sister Marian Ferraro. Visitation will be Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 at the Silverton Memorial Funeral Home, 2482 Church Rd, Toms River. A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday 10:00 am St Dominic RC Church, Brick.
