Hale Jr., Nathan S. (Rusty) - 66, Spring Lake Heights  
Nathan (Rusty) S. Hale Jr. AGE: 66 • Spring Lake Heights Nathan (Rusty) S. Hale Jr of Spring Lake Heights, NJ passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, January 26, 2015, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, NJ. Nathan was born in Amherst, MA and raised in Storrs, CT. He was a graduate of E.O. Smith High School. He attended Monmouth University, where he met his future wife Ann. While at Monmouth he played on the Hawks basketball team and was a member of the Sigma Pi Fraternity. He later went on to proudly support Monmouth University as a member of the President's Society and sponsored a scholarship in his and Ann's name. Nathan was a prestigious New York banker for 45 years. He began his career at Chemical Bank in 1970 and went on to work for JP Morgan Chase, Citibank, Wachovia and Wells Fargo. Most recently, Nathan was Sr. Vice President at Wells Fargo Private Bank, in the Legal Specialty Group and was preparing to retire in February 2015. Rusty was an avid golfer and especially enjoyed playing for many years at Woodlake Country Club. He was also a member of the Belmar Fishing Club. He loved spending his weekends cheering on his beloved Jets, the Yankees and the UConn Huskies. Rusty brought joy and happiness to everyone he met. His positive outlook on life was nothing short of remarkable and helped him wage a valiant battle against cancer for the past year. His contagious smile will always be remembered by all who knew and loved him. Rusty was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and nephew. His joy for life and love for the Rolling Stones will live on in his family forever. Rusty was predeceased by his mother Ann Z. Hale, his aunt and uncle William and Harriet Zeitung, his uncle Douglas Hale, father-in-law Leonard Sullivan, mother-in-law Helen McMullen Sullivan, sister-in-law Maureen Rohrmann and nephew Lenny Sullivan. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 ½ years Ann McMullen Hale, Spring Lake Heights; three children, Amie Keegan and her husband Robert of Brick, Nathan S. Hale III and his wife Patricia of Hazlet, Elizabeth Coscia and her husband Michael of Tinton Falls and five grandchildren, Hanna Hale, Sarah and Kayce Coscia and Robert and Charles Keegan; his father Nathan S. Hale, Sr of Lakeland, FL; brothers, Jonathan Hale and his wife Kathy of South Windsor, Ct, Daniel Hale and his wife Linda of College Station, TX and his sister Mary Hale of Charlotte, NC. He also leaves behind aunts, Dorothy (Hale) Simpson, Ann Hale and an uncle Chet Hale. He will be missed also by his many in-laws; Leonard and Margaret Sullivan, MaryAnn and Michael Cunningham, William and Patricia McMullen, Donald Rohrmann, Paul and Janice McMullen, Heidi and Charles Dughi, Kevin McMullen, Casey and Dodd Johnson, Lenore and Robert Winemiller, Patricia Bogan and numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Friday, January 30, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Neary-Quinn Funeral Home, 39 South Street, Manasquan, NJ. A Mass will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at 9 am at St. Catharine Church in Spring Lake. Entombment will follow at St. Catharine Cemetery in Wall. Hart, Steven - 56, Beverly  
Steven Hart AGE: 56 • Beverly Steven Hart of Beverly passed away on Jan. 20th at the age of 56. Steven grew up in Hasbrouck Heights and Saddle Brook, New Jersey and then moved to Cinnaminson during his senior year of high school. He spent most of his adult life in Highland Park following his graduation from Rutgers University in New Brunswick. Steven worked for the Burlington County Times for the last several years as a journalist. He was a devoted father and son. He was also an accomplished writer, having published several books, most recently Let the Devil Speak. Steven is the son of Alice & the late Frederick. Predeceased by his Son William. He is survived by his loving children, Carolyn & Torgyn and their mother, Mary Walworth of Highland Park. Steven also leaves behind his sister, Susan Dare and brother-in-law Ray Dare, of Cinnaminson, his Uncle Tom & Aunt Patty, his Uncle Paul & Aunt Cookie, his niece Sigrid & his nephew Ricky. A memorial service for Steven will be held on Saturday January 31, 2015 at 2pm at the Weber Funeral Home, 112 Broad St., Riverton, NJ 08077. Friends and relatives may greet the family from 1pm until the time of the service. Hayden, James J.  
James J. Hayden AGE: 67 • James J. Hayden, 67, was welcomed into eternal rest on Thursday, January 22nd surrounded by his loving family. Surviving are his wife of 42 years, Anne Marie Derzock Hayden, a daughter and son-in-law, Cathleen and David Rosen and his grandchildren, Benjamin James and Isabella Marie; all of Freehold; his parents, James and Dolly Hayden, a brother, Gary Hayden of Linden, and sister, Donna Hayden of Old Bridge. He is once again peacefully reunited with his daughter, Kelly Anne. James Hayden was a devoted educator to the students of Freehold Township High School where he served as Teacher, Supervisor, Assistant Principal, and Principal from 1972 when the school opened, until his retirement in 2001. He then worked as Assistant Professor and Program Coordinator of Educational Administration at Rider University. He also sat as a founding member of Capital Preparatory Charter High School in Trenton, as a part time lecturer at Rutgers University, and as Chairperson of the Middle States Evaluation Team. He was a member of many education associations including, The John Dewey Society, Kappa Delta Pi, and Phi Delta Kappa. Dr. Hayden was a lifelong learner and worked passionately to inspire others. He earned Masters' degrees from both Fordham and Rutgers Universities, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Rutgers University in 1993. A scholarship is named in his honor and will be awarded to a graduating senior at Freehold Twp. High School. Memorial donations can be made to The James J. Hayden Memorial Scholarship Fund, P.O. A celebration of his life will take place on Saturday, January 31st, from 1-4 p.m. at the Freehold Township Senior Center on Jackson Mills Road.

Higgins, Seaman W. - 92, Barnegat Light  
Seaman W. Higgins AGE: 92 • Barnegat Light Seaman W. Higgins, 92, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 15, 2015, at Gulf Coast Hospital in Fort Myers, Florida. He was a long term resident of Barnegat Light, NJ and spent his winters in Estero, FL. Born in Plainfield, NJ, he lived in South Plainfield for 45 years before moving to Barnegat Light in 1966. He was a retired master electrician for Hockenbury Electric in Somerville, NJ. He was also a World War II veteran serving with the Coast Guard. He is predeceased by his beloved wife, Anne Spisso Higgins. He is survived by his five children, Nancy Johnson (Riles), Eileen Higgins, Virginia (Gin) Bumback (Russ), JR Higgins (Debby) and Beth Stonebrook (Terry), 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Services are private and a memorial will be held in Barnegat Light at a later date.

Born in Newark, Robert formerly resided in Parsippany where he raised his family with devotion for 40 years. He was the loving husband of Barbara (Shanahan) for 58 cherished years: Father of Michele Flynn and her husband Thomas, Craig Hanlon and his wife Linda and Christopher and his wife Kelly: Grandfather of Tara, Caitlin, Ryan, Dylan, Isabella, Lillian and George; Great Grandfather to; Georgia Elle and Scarlet Grace. His companionship, wisdom, smile and laughter will be missed dearly by many friends and family. Robert was a US Army Veteran of WWII, having served with the 82nd Airborne Division. He worked as a Master Printer for 45 years and retired from Ever Ready Label Corp., Belleville NJ. Robert was a faithful and active member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Barnegat. He was an accomplished photographer and gardener. He was passionate for all music, history, travel and especially his Country. A Memorial Mass will be offered Sat. January 31st, 11am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Barnegat NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project. Cynthia Leona Hodge AGE: 71 • Toms River Cynthia Leona Hodge 71 of Toms River NJ passed away on January 22, 2015 with family by her side. Cynthia was born in Long Branch NJ on July 9, 1943 to the late Charles Hodge and Irene Samuels. She was a lifelong resident of Ocean County. She was a CHHA for over 30 years and shared her passion. She is predeceased by her brother Randolph Hodge and a son Daniel Harris. She leaves to cherish are her children Gloria , Anthony, Haywood, Lisa, Jerome, and Theresa Harris. Two stepchildren Wilton and Fitzroy Morgan. A sister Barbra Armour, 10 grandchildren, 9 great grands, and a host of family and friends. Visitation will be held on January 30, 2015 at Greater Bethel Church of God, 201 Dr. Martin Luther King Drive Lakewood NJ. Viewing from 10-11am followed by funeral service at 11am. Interment will be at Mount Prospect. Jackson Funeral Home in Neptune has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Hartzog, Margaret "Dolly" - Bridgewater  
Margaret "Dolly" Hartzog Bridgewater Margaret "Dolly" Hartzog died January 5, 2015 surrounded by her family. Born in Manville, NJ, she also lived in Bridgewater, NJ where she raised her two sons and later in Weatherly, PA before she moved back to Manville. She graduated Bound Brook High School in 1948 where she was a cheerleader and twirler. She married Walter "Buddy" Hartzog on February 29, 1949. She worked at the First National and Somerset Trust Banks. She prided herself in being an amazing mother to her two sons, wife and friend. She was a faithful and devoted member of the North Branch Reformed Church, Bridgewater, for over 60 years. She served on the Christian Endeavor Committee and also taught Sunday School. She truly enjoyed the life that she was given. She loved the simple things like doing crosswords, puzzles, and watching tennis. She vacationed in Clearwater Beach, FL and could never soak up enough sunshine. She lived her life to the fullest and will always be remembered for her warm smile and comforting demeanor. Margaret "Dolly" is predeceased by her mother, Mary Zripko and father, Mitro Hromoho; brothers Jerry Hromoho, and Johnny Hromoho; her sisters, Helen Heger, Julie Duda, and Mary Czuprewicz; and her son Bruce Hartzog. Surviving is her husband of 65 years, Walter "Buddy" Hartzog; son Kevin Hartzog, sisters Olga Satanik, and Anne Potts; and by her five grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Arrangements are under the direction of the Ketusky Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be held at North Branch Reformed Church on February 7, 2015 at 10:30 AM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged to the North Branch Reformed Church, 203 Route 28, Bridgewater, NJ 08807.
