DeFalco, Nicholas L. - 90, Manchester  
Nicholas L. DeFalco AGE: 90 • Manchester Nicholas L. DeFalco, 90, of Manchester, died Thursday, April 30, 2015 at Leisure Park Health Care Center, Lakewood. Born in Glen Ridge he resided in Wallington and Clifton before moving to Manchester in 1987. He served as Sergeant in the Army during WWII from 1943-1945 and was part of the B-24 Bomber crew in the Battle of the Bulge & Ardennes. He was an engineer for Alan B. Dumont and then Kearfott Co., both in East Paterson, for 11 years each before retiring. In his retirement he helped his uncle at Corbo Jewelers in Clifton. He was active in the Leisure Village West Bocce, Golf and Italian American Clubs the VFW Post #7904 and the Knights of Columbus Council #9134. Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Sylvia Sadowski DeFalco; 2 sons, Gary of Rahway and Bryan of Brick; a daughter, Joan Bertagno & husband Foster of Wayne; and 6 grandchildren, Andrew, David, Jesse, Dylan, Cheyenne, Bryan and 2 great-grandchildren, Ryan & Audrey. Visitation is Tuesday from 4-8 PM at Oliverie Funeral Home 2925 Ridgeway Rd Manchester. Funeral Liturgy is 11 AM Wednesday at St. John's Church, Lakehurst with interment to follow at Brigadier Gen Wm C. Doyle NJ Veteran's Cemetery, Arneytown. Eichert, Frank - New Brunswick  
Frank Eichert AGE: 97 • Edison Frank Eichert, 97, of Edison, passed away Tuesday April 28, 2015 at JFK Haven Hospice. Born in Milltown, he was a resident of Edison most of his life. Mr. Eichert was a Supervisor with the Motor Vehicle Commission before retiring in 1983. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He was predeceased by his son Frank Eichert. Surviving are his beloved wife Ruth (Grandell) Eichert of Edison; his son Michael Eichert of Manalapan; 3 grandchildren Anna Walker of PA, Eric Eichert of Las Vegas, NV, and Jennifer Crumley of Manalapan; and 6 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is his brother Matthew Eichert. Cremation will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of Boylan Fu neral Home in Edison.

Eichhorn, Ruth Connolly - 85, Lakewood  
Ruth Connolly Eichhorn AGE: 85 • Lakewood Ruth C. Eichhorn, 85, passed away on April 30, 2015. She is survived by her loving husband Robert of 64 years, daughter Linda Hileman (Gary) of Tampa, Florida and son Scott (Joan) of Basking Ridge, NJ. Grandchildren include Chris (Jenna Henry), Rob (Jess Henry) and Lori (Mike Hays), Tom (Tina Eichhorn), Lisa (Tom Kehoe) and Patrick. Great-grandchildren are Tyler Hays, Tyler, Connor and Teigan Kehoe. Ruth and her husband resided in Westfield for 45 years where she was employed by Esso and as a legal secretary in several law firms. Ruth was an active member and Sunday School teacher at the Third Presbyterian Church in Elizabeth where she was married 64 years ago; an active member of the Nomahegan Swim and Tennis Club, a Brownie Troop leader and a cheering mom for all of her children's events. Many summers were spent in Ocean Grove. Her family will receive friends on Monday, May 4th from 9:30-11:30 AM at D'Elia's Funeral Home, Rt 70 in Lakewood. A funeral service will be held at 11:30 also at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield at 2 PM. Contributions may be made to Meridian Home Care and Hospice 1759 Route 88, Suite 100, Brick, NJ 08724, in Ruth's memory. She was a loving wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, and will be missed by all.

Fernicola, Marie C. (Conway) - Asbury Park  
Marie C. Fernicola (née Conway) AGE: 90 • Marie C. Fernicola (née Conway), 90 years old, passed away peacefully at her beloved Allenhurst home surrounded by her loving family on the morning of Thursday, April 30, 2015. Born in Raven Run, Pennsylvania, Marie was the youngest of the five children of Patrick and Maude Conway. She was extremely proud that her maternal ancestors had served in the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War. She joined the Cadet Nurses Corps and graduated as a Registered Nurse from Temple University Nursing School in 1945. She moved to Washington, D.C., where she worked on a medical-surgical unit at Georgetown University Hospital, and later worked for the noted neurosurgeons, Drs. Albert Strine, Sr. and Jr. While working as a pediatric nurse at Georgetown, she met her future husband, Dr. Daniel J. Fernicola, who had returned to Georgetown University after serving as an officer in the US Navy from 1942-1946 in both the Atlantic and Pacific theaters during World War II. Upon his graduation from Georgetown University Dental School, they were married at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Newark, NJ on August 28, 1950.They were devoted parents to their seven children, whom they raised in Newark, and in whom they instilled a dedication to higher education. Commencing with her husband and continuing with herself, her children, their spouses and grandchildren, Marie's family earned a total of 15 degrees from Georgetown University and 16 additional advanced degrees. Once their youngest children were in high school, Marie worked with her husband at his dental office down the street from their Newark home. They loved being together at work and at home, and their greatest pleasure was spending time together with their children. In 1960, they began spending their summers at the Jersey Shore, first in Spring Lake, then Allenhurst. Marie enjoyed many wonderful summers with her family at the Allenhurst Beach Club. In 1983, Daniel and Marie permanently moved to Allenhurst. She was an avid traveler, journeying with family members to all of the major Western European countries, Russia, the Caribbean, Hawaii and Alaska. She was predeceased by her beloved husband in July 1987, her parents and her three brothers, Vincent, Charles, and James. Surviving are her sister, Maude Karwois, Girardville, PA, and her loving children, Kathleen Malone and Lee Brownne, Carlsbad, CA, Maureen Bowe and her husband William, West Allenhurst, Dr. Charles P. Fernicola and his wife Diane, Forked River, Dr. Marie Pennanen and her husband Kevin, Washington, DC, Dr. Daniel J. Fernicola, Jr. and his wife, Dr. Barbara Butler, Chevy Chase, MD, Dr. Patrick J. Fernicola and his wife, Regina, Fortson, GA, and Paul V. Fernicola and his wife, Margot, Loch Arbour. She also leaves a brother-in-law, Charles A. Fernicola, Newark, her nieces, LaRue Freeman, Cherry Hill and Joyce Fernicola, Newark, her nephew James Karwois, Falls Church, VA, 10 great nephews and nieces, and her cherished 20 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She was a faithful Catholic with a special devotion to the Sacred Heart, and longtime parishioner at Saint Mary of the Assumption Church, Deal, attending daily Mass for many years and member of the Cartonian Club. She was active in many Catholic women's organizations including the Catholic Daughters for which she was treasurer, the Red Hat Society, and the Senior Friendship Club of Ocean Township. She was a charter member of the Women's Auxiliary, Columbus Hospital, in Newark, NJ and nurtured many fond memories of her "bandage-rolling group." She was a life-long enthusiastic reader, but she also appreciated a good game of tennis or bowling in mid-life. Visitation will be held at the Buckley Funeral Home, 509 2nd Avenue, Asbury Park, NJ, on Wednesday, May 6, 2015, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 7, 2015 at Saint Mary of the Assumption Church, 46 Richmond Avenue, Deal, NJ. Internment shall immediately follow at St. Catherine's Cemetery, 1100 W. Chicago Blvd., Sea Girt, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Monmouth Medical Center, Employee Comfort Fund or HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Tinton Falls. Fischer, Nancy P. - Bridgewater  
Nancy P. Fischer Bridgewater Nancy P. Fischer Died peacefully at Bridgeway Care and Rehab Center on April 30, 2015. Nancy was born and raised in Alpine, NJ. She graduated from Seton Hall University in 1964 and started a teaching career that spanned the next 45 years. She first taught in Piscataway, then New Brunswick, and finally at Adamsville School in Bridgewater. Nancy was an avid traveler and, along with her husband and sons, visited throughout Europe, Mexico, and the United States. She was a wonderfull loving person and spread that love among her family, her friends, and the children in her classes. She is survived by her husband Rob, son Michael and his wife Beth, son Christopher and his wife Connie, and grandchildren Lindsay, Ryan, Sean, Luke and Gianna. Anita Fisher AGE: 97 • Spotswood Anita Fisher, 97, formerly of Spotswood, died Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Springfield, Massachusetts, she resided in West Hartford, Connecticut for more than 50 years, settling in Spotswood in 2004. Anita enjoyed bowling, cooking and traveling. She was a long-time member of the South End Senior Center of Hartford and the Elmwood Community Club of West Hartford. She retired in the late 70's from the former D and L Department Store of West Hartford, where she was a sales clerk for more than fifteen years. Predeceased by her husband, Halsted C. Fisher in 1995 and all of her siblings, she is survived by her daughters, Charlene Chenel and her husband Thomas, of Brooksville, FL and Candace Gaudio and her husband Edward, of East Brunswick; four grandchildren, Thomas, Wendy, Douglas and Paul; seven great-grandchildren, and; many nieces and nephews whom Anita held dear to her heart. Funeral services will be held on Monday, beginning with a 10:15 AM Mass of Christian Burial from Immaculate Conception Church, Spotswood. Interment will follow at approximately 3:00 PM at Fairview Cemetery in West Hartford, CT. Arrangements are under the direction of Spotswood Funeral Home. David T. Green AGE: 74 • David T. Green, 74, passed away April 29th, 2015 after a long battle with cancer. He is predeceased by his parents, George and Margaret Green, his brother George II and his two grandchildren Shane and Rachel. He is survived by his beloved wife Marianne. Janet L. Hawkins Neptune Janet Louise Hawkins departed this life on April 29, 2015 from natural causes. Janet was a lifelong resident of Neptune, New Jersey. She was born in Glen Ridge, New Jersey to Lucinda and Alfred Taylor. Janet was married to Clarence Vernell Hawkins who preceded her in death. Janet provided thirty-eight years of dedicated service to Jersey Shore University Medical Center and retired as a registered nurse in the cardiac operating room. Janet is survived by her daughter, Patricia A. Hawkins-Warrick, son-in-law, Edward Warrick, Sr., son, Gregory A. Hawkins, daughter-in-law, Titania Hawkins, grandson, Edward Warrick, Jr., and granddaughters, Jasmine and Tiffany Hawkins. Additional loved ones, longtime companion, Mr. David H. Greason, and a host of family and friends. Janet's home going services will be held at Pilgrim Baptist Church, 172 Shrewsbury Avenue, Red Bank, New Jersey, 07701 on Thursday, May 7, 2015. Hensley, Tod - 46, Formerly Of Neptune  
Tod Hensley AGE: 46 • formerly of Neptune Tod Hensley, 46, artist extraordinaire of Brooklyn, NY, formerly of Neptune, NJ, died unexpectedly Wednesday, April 22, 2015. Tod graduated from Neptune High School and The School of Visual Arts, New York, NY. His work was displayed in many shows throughout the United States. His latest endeavor had been fabric art. Tod also co-authored and co-illustrated a comic entitled 'Dr PI and Rickety Rat'. He funded his projects by working in the garment district in NYC. Tod is survived by his mother, Susan Eickhorn of Tinton Falls; father and stepmother, Clay and Terry Hensley of Neptune. Tod also leaves two sisters, Sally Hensley Martin of Florida, Joyce Hensley of Manahawkin, NJ; half sister, Rachel Hensley of VA, and many nieces, nephews and one great-nephew. There will be no service as requested by Tod. Cremation will be private.
