Farmer, Irene Ann - 72, Manasquan  
Irene Ann Farmer AGE: 72 • Manasquan Irene Ann Farmer, 72, of Manasquan, died peacefully after a 20 year battle with Alzheimer's disease, with her loving husband Wayne, by her side, on May 23, 2015 in their home in Manasquan, NJ. Born in Staten Island, NY she graduated with a BS in Biology from Notre Dame College in 1964, continued to earn her MS in Education from Wagner College in 1966 after which she taught 3rd grade for 8 years in NY, PA, and VA. Cofounding and managing her husband's medical practice, Irene and Wayne balanced career and life admirably, built and made a home, where they raised 5 children and resided for over 20 years. A teacher by trade, Irene was a natural artist, a gifted conversationalist, a wonderful wife, and an extraordinary mother and grandmother who always put family first and inspired all of us to do great things with the talents we were given. Preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Rita Boggs, Irene is survived by her devoted husband Wayne, her loving children, Wayne and Jacy Farmer, Sandy Ferrara, Caroline Bitzer, Thomas and Jill Farmer, Gregory and Kelly Farmer; her 8 grandchildren, Lindsey, Alicia, William, Alexander, Devin, Suzanne, Eleanor and Molly; sister Rita Boggs, and wonderful caretakers: Irena Glinski and Patsy Steele. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation form 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Orender Family home for Funerals 2643 Old Bridge Road Manasquan on Tuesday, May 26. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:30 am on Wednesday May 27 at St. Denis Church 90 Union Avenue, Manasquan. Interment will follow at Holmdel Cemetery 900 Holmdel Rd, Holmdel, NJ 07733. Gallagher, Johanna Marie - 93, Middletown  
Johanna Marie Gallagher AGE: 93 • Middletown Johanna Marie Gallagher, 93, of Middletown, NJ, passed away at her home, surrounded by family on May 21, 2015. Devoted daughter of Robert Emmett and Margaret McCalla Shortall, she and her three sisters Elizabeth, Blanche, and Kathleen attended Notre Dame Academy and College in Staten Island, NY. During college, she met her beloved husband of 59 years, the late Edward J. Gallagher at intercollegiate drama and glee club performances. Both were glee club presidents. As a young professional, she worked as a chemist for Tidewater Refinery in Bayonne, NJ as part of the WWII effort. She retired to raise a large family: "That's what I always wanted to do as a career." Johanna and Edward raised 9 children: Joanne, Edward, Patricia, Stephen, Mary, John, Matthew, Elizabeth, and Kathryn. She is beloved "Nana" to 11 grandchildren: Mark, Megan, Caitlin, Edward, Michael, Daniel, Madeline, David, Kevin, Hannah, and Lucas; great-grandmother to Cassandra, Joseph, Anthony, William, Jacob and Adam; mother-in-law to Lynn, James, Ann, Douglas, Hyechung, Sharon and Laurence; grandmother-in-law to Barbara, Erika, and Catherine. She leaves behind her best friend and neighbor of 50 years, Liz McLaughlin. Johanna taught at St Mary's School for 10 years. A woman of deep faith, strength, and perseverance, Johanna will be missed and remembered lovingly by many. The family wishes to thank the following people who helped and cared for Johanna over the past 3+ years: Kelly, Jane, Frankie, Carmen, Evelyne, Robin and Christine Condon, APN. Getchell, Lynn C. - 76, Manahawkin  
Lynn C. Getchell AGE: 76 • Manahawkin Lynn C. Getchell, age 76, of Manahawkin passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 23, 2015. Born and raised in Bayonne, NJ, Lynn has been resident of Manahawkin the last 50 years. She received her teaching degree from Seton Hall University and her masters degree from Rutgers University. She taught for 36 years in the Woodbridge Township public school system where she also served as an active member and past Vice President of the Woodbridge Township Teacher's Association. She was currently a member of the Retired Teacher's Association. Lynn is predeceased by her parents Herbert and Gladys Price Getchell. She is survived by her partner in life of 40 years, Joanne Jacoby, her sister and brother-in-law Gail and Robert Martin, her niece Dawn Marie Acocella and her husband David, her nephew Robert R. Martin, her great-niece Dana, her great-nephews David and Daniel as well as her extended family William Anner, Christopher Anner, Maryanne Anner and their children Daniel, Michael and Marcie Lynn. In addition to the many colleagues and students whose lives she touched, Lynn leaves behind many friends who she cherished and treated as extended family. Lynn's "girls" Bella and Mia brought her smiles and warmed her heart as much as her love of the sea and her boat "Tranquility IV". Her love of life infected everyone around her. Her kindness, wit, and laughter engraved wonderful memories on the hearts of all who knew her. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2015, from 10am to until her funeral service at 1pm from Maxwell Funeral Home, 573 Mill Creek Road, Manahawkin, NJ 08050. Nancy Ann Lanza AGE: 57 • Old Bridge Nancy Ann Lanza, 57, of Old Bridge died peacefully with her loving family by her side on Saturday, May 23, 2015. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Nancy moved to Old Bridge 54 years ago. Nancy was a tester with Blonder Tongue Laboratories in Old Bridge. Prior to Blonder Tongue she worked for White Westinghouse in Edison. Nancy is predeceased by her beloved parents Robert and Rose (Collins) Ampania and her loving brother Robert John Ampania (2014). She is survived by her adored sister Gail Nesbitt; her loving brother Glen Ampania; her dear nephew and godson Brian Ampania and her cherished great-niece Nicolette Ampania. Also surviving are her Aunts, Uncles and many cousins. Patricia Lynn Mayer AGE: 70 • Point Pleasant Boro Patricia Lynn Mayer, 70 of Point Pleasant Boro passed away at her home on Sunday May 24 with her family by her side. Patricia was born in Mount Holly and raised in Manasquan. She was a graduate of Manasquan High School. Patricia was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church of Manasquan. She was a homemaker who loved writing, gardening and caring for her grandchildren. Patricia was predeceased by her mother Emilie Flammer. She is survived by her husband of 49 years Raymond Mayer of Point Pleasant; her father Richard Flammer and wife Pat of Brick; her children Robin (Brian) Mayer-Carroll of Point Pleasant, Chris (Angele) Mayer of Point Pleasant, Brian (Amy) Mayer of Farmingdale, Jodie Mayer of Point Pleasant, Traci (Paul, Jr.) Wood of Clifton and Shawn Mayer of Sandy, Utah. Patricia is also survived by a brother Richard Flammer of San Diego, CA; three sisters Candy (Doug) Berger of Dallas, TX, Sherry Flammer of Napa, CA and Janet Pospisil and husband Billy of Manasquan; seven grandchildren Christopher, Alex, Mackenzie, Parker, Bennett, Cole and Emma. Terry M. McDevitt AGE: 66 • Palmer Township, and formerly of Branchburg Terry M. McDevitt 66, of Palmer Township, and formerly of Branchburg, NJ, died peacefully on May 23, 2015 at the Hospice House of St. Luke's in Bethlehem, Pa. Born in Reading, Pa., he was the son of the late Bernard "Pat" and Virginia Rothenberger McDevitt. Terry graduated from West Reading High School and received his BA from Rider University. He was a CPA and Area Financial Director for Warner-Lambert Co. in Morris Plains, NJ. Terry enjoyed traveling as well as golfing and bowling. He was a member of AICPA. Surviving Terry is his beloved and devoted wife of 43 years the former Marguerite "Marge" Lamberta; a son Jonathan Patrick of Durango, Co., his daughter Kari Mastroianni and her husband John of Readington, NJ; Two Sisters in law: Anna Bohnel of Palmer Township, and Donna Ditzel of New Providence, NJ; Two Brothers in law: Rea Gehret of Denver, Pa., and Frank Lamberta and his wife Patricia of Readington, NJ., as well as three nephews. A sister Patricia Gehret died earlier. A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday May 28, 2015 from St. Mary Catholic Church 830 Fifth Avenue in Alpha, NJ. Visitation will be held Wednesday in the Doyle-Devlin Funeral Home 695 Corliss Avenue in Phillipsburg from 2-4 and 6-8pm. Interment will be held privately. Palmeri, Katie Ann - 46, Toms River  
Katie Ann Palmeri AGE: 46 • Toms River Katie Ann Palmeri, 46, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2015 at her home in Toms River after a courageous battle with cancer. Katie was born and raised in Bloomfield to Joseph and Virginia Palmeri, and has resided in Toms River since 1986. She was a member of the U.P.S. Teamsters #117 of Tinton Falls, where she devoted over 25 years of service. Katie was a communicant of St. Martha's R.C. Church, Point Pleasant. She enjoyed gardening and adored all of her animals; most of all, Katie loved her family more than anything, and enjoyed the quality time spent together. She was preceded in death by her loving father Joseph N. Palmeri in 2009. Surviving are her loving mother, Virginia Travassaros Palmeri; her loving sisters, Joanne Egan and husband Robert and Virginia Chiller; her beloved longtime companion, Adam Simicich, Sr.; her two dear nieces, Lauren Domsky and husband Doug, Victoria Reed and husband Kevin; her nephew Gary Wright, Jr.; her companion's son Adam Simicich, Jr. "A.J" whom she loved as her own; great-nephews Jack and Dylan Reed, and many extended family and dear friends who will miss her greatly. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00PM at the O'Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick.
