Seifter, Bernice "Bunny" - Aberdeen  
Bernice "Bunny" Seifter AGE: 89 • Aberdeen Bernice "Bunny" Seifter, 89, of Aberdeen, passed away on Friday, April 29, 2016 after a short battle with cancer in Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel, NJ. She was born in the Bronx, NY and had lived in Aberdeen since 1963. She had been a co-owner of Frederic's Jewelry Manufacturing Corp. in New York City prior to her retirement. She was the most loving woman and incredible person anyone could ever imagine; truly an angel on this earth. The most important thing in her life was her family, who describe her as the most loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend that anyone could ever have. She was truly the best and her memory will continue to live on in the hearts and minds of all who knew her. She was predeceased by her parents, Lou and Anne Goldberg, a son, Mark Seifter, and a brother, Wally Goldberg. She leaves behind her loving and devoted husband of 70 years, Fred Seifter, a daughter and son-in-law, Randy and Frank Dowling, three grandchildren, Stephanie and husband Matt, Tatum and husband Todd, and Tara and fiancé Sheila, two great-grandchildren, Colin and Zachary, and three step great-grandchildren, Stephanie, Lexie and Isabelle. Relatives and friends are invited to gather for visitation from 10 to 11am on Monday, May 2, 2016 at Waitt Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 501 Highway 79, Morganville, NJ. A loving tribute to her remarkable life will take place at 11am followed by entombment in Holmdel Cemetery, Holmdel, NJ. Michael F. Sikorsky Ocean Michael F. Sikorsky of Ocean, NJ passed peacefully at home on 4/26/2016. Born in Memphis, Tenn. on 11-27-1936. Grew up in East Orange, NJ, graduate of NJIT and NYU, worked for AT&T / Bell Labs for 35 years. Predeceased by his parents Ruth and Frank Sikorsky, daughter Nancy Conte and stepson Michael Guarini. Survived by his wife Roberta, 3 stepchildren and 6 step grandchildren. Services are private.

Sorensen, Clara N.  
Clara N. Sorensen AGE: 78 • After a courageous fight against cancer, Clara N. Sorensen, 78, died peacefully in her sleep surrounded by family. After living most of her life on the New Jersey shore raising her family and providing daycare to countless nieces and nephews, she moved to Spring, Texas in 2008. She was a devoted baseball fan who could always be found watching a Yankee game when the cable company was feeling generous enough to air it in the Houston area. An instant smile would also appear in the presence of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Iona and Harry Van Brunt, beloved husband of 43 years, LeRoy Sorensen and brother Harry Van Brunt, Jr. Surviving family members include her son, Jim Sorensen (wife Terri) of Brick, NJ and daughter Debbie Castelo (husband Steve) of Spring, TX, 4 grandchildren, Andrea Varga (husband Steve), Joe Sorensen (fiancé Staci), Jackie Wertz (husband Josh) and Eric Castelo, 6 great grandchildren, Jace, Derek, Zoey, Alyssa, Paisley and Caiden, sister Sue Kirchgessner (husband Larry, deceased) and brothers Bill and Fred Van Brunt (wife Sharon). Per her request, there will be a family celebration of life in NJ in lieu of a service. Donations in her name to the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance www.ovariancancer.org will be appreciated. Stahl, Joan I. - Brick  
Joan I. Stahl AGE: 80 • Brick Joan Iris Stahl, of Brick, formerly of Chatham, NJ passed away on April 23, 2016. She was 80. Born on December 24, 1935 to Maxine Virginia Handschuh and Edward "Duffy" Herman Handschuh, Joan grew up in Newark, eventually moving to Irvington, NJ where she met her husband of 56 years, William J. Stahl, Sr. She had four children, Edward Herman Stahl and his wife Caralynne, Kim Maxine (Stahl) Patterson and her husband David, Sherri Joan (Stahl) Book, and William J. Stahl, Jr. and his wife Suzanne (Lily). She is also survived by six grandchildren, Bruce Edward Book, III, Brittany Joan Book, Brinalynn Book, James John Mastrobuono, III and his wife Kodi, David Gordon Patterson, Jr., Ashley Victoria Vieira, two great-grandsons, arriving in May, 2016, and brothers-in-law, Richard P. Stahl and the late Otto J. Stahl, Jr. Joan waitressed for Kless Diner in Irvington for around ten years, where she met her future husband. Joan enjoyed crafting, knitting, crocheting, and loved playing bingo, and slot machines down in Atlantic City. She was a loving, caring wife, mother, grandmother and accrued many special friends over the years. She will be greatly missed by her beloved family and friends. Friends may visit on Monday, May 2nd and Tuesday, May 3rd from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Wm. A. Bradley & Son Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Chatham. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Corpus Christi Church, 234 Southern Blvd, Chatham on Wednesday May 4th at 10:00 am. Stewart, Charles E. - Mobile  
Charles E. Stewart AGE: 83 • Mobile, AL Charles E. Stewart of Mobile, AL, passed away April 23, 2016. He was 83. Chuck was born in Bristol, VA. He graduated from Bristol High School, and went on to Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ. He graduated with both a Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree in Music. While attending Westminster Choir College, he met and married his wife of 57 years, Karen Heinritz Stewart. Together with the college choir, they had the opportunity to sing with a number of world famous composers and conductors, including Leonard Bernstein, Igor Stravinsky and Bruno Walter. They sang in a variety of venues including Radio City Music Hall and Carnegie Hall in New York. Chuck served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, both on active duty and in the reserves. After college and his military service, Chuck took a position with Middlesex Container Corporation, in Milltown, NJ. In later years he worked for Brunswick Sign and Exhibit company, New Brunswick, NJ. Chuck and Karen made Milltown their home where they raised their children, Jeffrey G. Stewart and Pam Stewart-Kuhn. Chuck and Karen were actively involved in the music and events at St. Paul's Church, making many life long friends during their 30 years in Milltown. They retired in 1996, and moved to Conway, SC. Chuck and Karen enjoyed their retirement in Conway, SC. Chuck was a devoted father and grandfather. He adored their grandchildren, Jeffrey P. Stewart, Chris Stewart, Katie Stewart-Kuhn, and Jackie Stewart-Kuhn, and great-grand child Blake Stewart. He was actively involved in their lives, attending school and sports events, piano recitals, and sharing his love of music. Chuck and Karen relocated to Mobile , AL, in 2007. Chuck touched the lives of all who knew him with his kindness and friendship. Chuck was preceded in death by his beloved wife Karen Heinritz Stewart; parents, Charles G. and Claudine H. Stewart, of Bristol, VA; brothers William Donald Stewart (and wife Golden), Jack L. Stewart (and wife Myrtice) of Bristol, VA; and sister Dorothy Baker, of Northeast, MD. He is survived by his daughter Pam Stewart-Kuhn and her husband Joe Kuhn of Mobile, AL; son Jeff Stewart and wife Karen of Robbinsville, NJ; brother-in-law James Baker of Northeast, MD; his four grandchildren, and his great-grand son. A celebration of his life was held in Mobile, AL. A private burial will be held in Bristol, VA. Memorial contributions may be made to the music/organ fund at St. Paul's Church, 62 S. Main Street, Milltown, NJ, 08850 or to St. Mary's Children's Home, 3350 Moffett Road, Mobile, AL 36618.

Tompkins, Dorothy M. - Somerset  
Dorothy M. Tompkins AGE: 88 • Somerset Mrs. Dorothy M. Tompkins passed away Friday April 29th, 2016 at her home in Somerset. She was 88 years old. Born in New Brunswick to Fredrick and Helen Meyer, Dorothy lived in Avenel for a time before coming to Franklin Township 57 years ago. Mrs. Tompkins worked as an Administrative Assistant at the Somerset County Technical Institute. A member for nearly 50 years of the Somerset Presbyterian Church, she'd served as Deacon and Elder, sang in the choir, and sat on the church's Mission and Music Commissions. Mrs. Tompkins was the former president of the PTA of the Middlebush School, and was an active member of the Franklin Twp. Women's Club. She enjoyed gardening and sewing, and loved to travel with her granddaughter in the Road Scholar (formerly Elderhostel) program. Mrs. Tompkins was predeceased by her husband, John, in 1991, and by her brother, Fredrick "Ted" Meyer. She is survived by her children: Cheryl Tompkins and her husband Robert Sorenson of Mercerville, NJ, Gail Inglis and her husband Robert of Florida, Brian Tompkins and his wife Diane of Milltown, NJ, and Joyce Tompkins of Somerset; her grandchildren, Amy Silva and Amanda and Micaela Tompkins; and by her grand-dogs, Midnight and Chantelle. Visitation will be held on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the Gleason Funeral Home 1360 Hamilton St. Somerset, NJ 08873 and at 9am Tuesday in Somerset Presbyterian Church 100 JFK Blvd in Somerset, followed by the funeral at 10am. Burial will be in Van Liew Cemetery in North Brunswick. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the church.

Margaret "Peggy" Aprile AGE: 66 • Woodbridge Margaret "Peggy" Aprile, 66 of Woodbridge passed away quietly at her home on Thursday, April 28, 2016 after a difficult battle with cancer. Born March 2, 1950 in Jersey City to Fred and Tillie (Bruno) Ganci, Peggy attended St. Paul's School, Snyder High School and was a graduate of Jersey City State College where she received a Bachelor of Education degree and went on to teach at Sacred Heart School in Jersey City. Peggy later moved to a career in human resources at Siemens Corporation. Peggy was predeceased by her sisters, Camille Garison and Susan Warnick. Surviving are her loving husband, Salvatore whom she married on November 7, 1988, step-children, Johnna Steinmire, Salvatore Aprile, brother, Alfred Ganci along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will begin at 9:30am on Monday, May 2, 2016 from GERITY & CHUBENKO FUNERAL HOME, 411 Amboy Avenue, Woodbridge followed by a 10am funeral liturgy at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary R.C. Church in Hopelawn. Cremation services will be private. The family invites all who knew and loved Peggy for visitation on Sunday, May 1, 2016 from 2pm to 6pm at the funeral home.
