Kiefer, Kevin - 63, Edison  
Kevin Kiefer AGE: 63 • Edison Kevin T. Kiefer, 63 years old, passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2015. Kevin grew up in Metuchen, attended St. Francis School, and was in the Metuchen High School class of 1970. Kevin lived in Metuchen almost his entire live until he moved to Edison five years ago. Kevin worked as a Service Tech at New Brunswick Scientific prior to retiring. Kevin is survived by his beloved wife Sharon Kiefer, the cherished father of Scott Kiefer and Todd Kiefer and his wife Mary, the beloved brother of Laurie Kiefer Tagliaboschi and wonderful uncle to Michael, Anthony, Kathryn, Sara, Colette, Margaret, Marie and TJ. Kevin was predeceased by his parents Barney Kiefer and Betty Bauman Kiefer. Kevin loved to read and had a passion for history, movies and his 1930 Model A Ford. He was extremely devoted to his family and had an incredible mind. He was someone who could fix anything or figure out a way to "make it work." The funeral will take place Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 8:30am from Costello-Runyon Funeral Home, 568 Middlesex Ave. (Rt. 27), Metuchen ( costello-runyon.com ) followed by a 9:00am Funeral Mass at St. Francis Cathedral, Metuchen. Interment is in Hillside Cemetery, Metuchen. Viewing will take place on Friday, August 28, 2015 from 5 to 9pm.

Frederick W. Koester AGE: 71 • Barnegat Frederick W. Koester, 71, of Barnegat, passed Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2015. A U.S. Navy veteran and member of the American Legion Post 232, Barnegat, he worked as a self-employed painter for many years and formerly resided in Sayreville. Predeceased by his beloved wife, Mary Ann; his parents, Henry and Helen Koester; two sisters, Barbara Mills and Carol Milewski, he is survived by two children and their spouses, Scott and Maryanne Koester, Marci and Scott Applegate; two step-children, Melanie and husband Ken Blair, Al Yanas; three grandchildren, Paul, Elena and Katie; a sister, Arlene Hamilton; and numerous nieces and nephews. Viewing from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Sat., Aug. 29, with funeral services to follow 4:30 p.m. at Barnegat Funeral Home, 841 W. Bay Ave., Barnegat. Interment 1 p.m. Tues., Sept. 1 in Bg. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Vet. Lacks Sr., Lindwood - 56, Plainfield  
Lindwood Lacks Sr. AGE: 56 • Plainfield Lindwood Lacks Sr., age 56, entered eternal rest on Sunday, August 23, 2015 at JFK Medical Center in Edison NJ. Born in Plainfield to the late James and Mary (West) Lacks, Mr. Lacks had been a lifelong resident of Plainfield. Mr. Lacks Sr. had served in the United Sates Army from 1976 to 1986 having been stationed in Germany. Prior to retiring Mr. Lacks had worked as a forklift mechanic for the Barclay Brand in South Plainfield for 20 years. He enjoyed bowling, watching sci-fi movies and was a fan of the NY Mets. He is survived by his loving wife Betty (Davis) Lacks; three sons Lindwood Lacks Jr. (Jillian) of West Orange, Aaron Lacks of Plainfield and Shawn Lacks of Plainfield; two daughters Sharon Lacks of Plainfield and Tiffany Lacks (James Walker) of Belle Mead; two brothers Berkeley Lacks and James Kevin Lacks; two sisters Carolyn Lacks and Barbara Moore (Norman); grandchildren Briah, Justin, Anthony and Ava Lacks, Jayden and Tyler Lacks-Walker. He is also survived aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and a host of extended family and loving friends. A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2015 from 11:00 am to 1pm at Higgins Home for Funerals, 209 West 8th St., Plainfield NJ followed by a 1pm funeral service at the funeral home. Jill (Gregorin) Lecorchick AGE: 37 • Old Bridge Jill (Gregorin) Lecorchick of Old Bridge died on Wednesday August 26, 2015 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was 37 years old. Jill was born in New Brunswick and resided in Monroe Twp. for most of her life before moving to Old Bridge 9 years ago. She graduated from Monroe Twp. High School (Class of 1996) and received her Associates Degree from Berkley School of Business in Woodbridge. She was employed by the Twp. of Keyport as an Administrative Secretary until 2010. Jill is survived by her parents Dale and Kathleen (Monticello) Gregorin, her husband Kevin Lecorchick, her son Kyle, one brother Matthew Gregorin and his wife Gabriela, one sister Tricia Rutherford and her husband Scott, all of Old Bridge, her paternal grandmother Martha Gregorin of Cleveland, OH, her maternal grandmother Margaret Monticello of New Port Richey, FL and three nieces: Isabella, Kelsey and Emma. A memorial gathering will be 3-6pm on Saturday August 29, 2015 and 2-4pm & 7-9pm on Sunday August 30, 2015 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home - 205 Rhode Hall Rd. Lucewicz, Alexander J. - Port Reading  
Alexander J. Lucewicz AGE: 85 • Port Reading Alexander J. Lucewicz, 85, of the Port Reading section of Woodbridge Township passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at his home. Born in Perth Amboy, he was a lifelong resident of Port Reading. Before his retirement in 1990, he was employed as an oiler and repairman for 38 years at HULS Chemical in Edison, NJ. Alexander served his country in the United States Army and was a Korean Veteran. He was a devoted communicant of St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church and always loved spending time with his family, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends. He also enjoyed listening to his polish music and watching the New York Mets and Giants. He will be missed very, very much by all. He was predeceased by his wife, Frances in 2009, his parents, Alexander and Anna Lucewicz along with his brothers, Steve, Michael and Joseph Lucewicz. He is survived by his step-son, Ronald Tarnowski and his wife Janet, step-daughter, Gail Kapcsandi, his grandchildren, Jeffrey Tarnowski, Joseph Kapcsandi and his wife Lisa, Deana Babula and her husband Christopher and Christopher Kapcsandi. Also surviving are four great grandchildren, Logan, Ava, and Allie Babula, Alyssa Kapcsandi along with many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 9:30am from CHUBENKO FUNERAL HOME, 625 Port Reading Avenue, Port Reading followed by a 10am Mass of Resurrection at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church, Port Reading. Cremation will be private. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 28. 2015 from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm at the funeral home. Veronica Matus AGE: 85 • Toms River Veronica Matus, 85, of Toms River, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2015, at Community Medical Center, Toms River. Born in Jersey City, she resided in Ridgefield Park prior to moving to Toms River. Veronica held many blue collar jobs throughout her life and enjoyed cooking. She was predeceased by her first husband, Edward Harrison; second husband, Edward Matus, and many brothers and sisters. Surviving are her children, Edward Harrison of Guttenberg, and Joanne Harrison and partner David Phillips of Toms River; grandchildren, Christina, Melissa and Toni; great-granddaughter, Kaytlyn; siblings, Joan Hanley and husband Billy of Carteret, Frank Tobias and wife Jo of Florida, Raymond Tobias of Manchester, and Helen Woch of New Jersey; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, 2015 at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Road, Toms River. A funeral service will be offered at 7 p.m. during visitation. Mead, Dorothy - 83, North Plainfield  
Dorothy Mead AGE: 83 • North Plainfield Dorothy Mead of North Plainfield passed away peacefully at the age of 83 surrounded by her family on August 26th. Dorothy was born in Union New Jersey then moved to South Plainfield after she was married where she resided for most of her life. She was a devoted mother to six children. She worked in the credit department of Sears and also had her Real-estate License. Dorothy loved all animals especially dogs. She enjoyed music, cooking, baking and gardening, but her greatest joy was being with her children and her granddaughter Olivia. Mrs. Mead was predeceased by her husband Edward C. Mead in 2007 and her son Garry T. Mead in 2006. Dorothy is survived by her sons Edward S. Mead of Warren, Thomas P. Mead of Farmingdale, her daughters Deborah H. Mead of North Plainfield, Eileen T. Lovett of Annandale, Diane M. Neuhaus of Whitehouse Station, her beloved granddaughter Olivia E. Neuhaus and her brother Stanley Krulikowski of Sebastian Florida and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be held Monday August 31 from 2-8PM at The South Plainfield Funeral Home, 2456 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield NJ 07080. A prayer service will take place at 8PM in the funeral home. Committal will be private. Morse, Margaret (Peggy) - Brick  
Margaret (Peggy) Morse Brick Margaret (Peggy) Morse, of Brick, NJ, passed peacefully on August 22, 2015 with her daughters Kathleen, Theresa and Laura Jean by her side. Born and raised in the Bronx, NY Peggy moved to Middletown, NJ. There she raised her daughters. She attended Brookdale Community College where she received her degree and worked as an RN at John F. Kennedy Medical Center in Edison for 25 years. Peggy loved to travel and traveled the world with her family and friends. She was loving and giving and had the most infectious laugh. She absolutely adored her grandchildren and retired so she could be a greater part of their young lives. When they went off to school, she mentored foster children. She joined the Nurses Ministry at St. Dominic's Church and became a Eucharistic Minister and visited the home bound. She touched so many lives and each one is richer for the experience. She was predeceased by her parents, George W. Morse and Margaret H. Morse and by her brother George Morse of Hazlet. Peggy's family, Kathleen and Jason Carchio, Theresa, Greg, Rachel, Matthew and Sarah Kuras, Laura Jean, Chris, Luke and Maggie McNair, as well as her nephews, cousins and friends, will lovingly remember her and miss her always. The family would especially like to recognize the amazingly patient and compassionate care of the staff of Booker 3 at Jersey Shore Medical Center. Visitation will be held at Kedz Funeral Home, 1123 Hooper Ave., Toms River on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10:00 am Saturday, at St. Dominic's Catholic Church, 250 Old Squan Road, Brick, NJ.

Paine, Elizabeth Louise - 81, Bridgewater  
Elizabeth Louise Paine AGE: 81 • Bridgewater Elizabeth Louise Paine, 81, of Bridgewater passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at Somerset Valley Rehabilitation and Care Center in Bridgewater. She was born in Newark on June 20, 1934, a daughter of the late Melchior and Elizabeth Marie Metz Schmidt. She had resided in Newark before moving to Bridgewater in 1964. Betty Lou was a wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. She loved her family tremendously and especially enjoyed time spend with her five grandsons. She also loved animals and generously donated to many animal welfare groups. Betty Lou is predeceased by her husband, Robert Walter Paine, who died October 16, 2001, and by her brother, William J. Schmidt, who died August 23, 1998. Mrs. Paine is survived by three sons, Robert Walter Paine, Jr. of New Providence, Russell David Paine and Christopher Jason Paine both of Long Valley; and five grandsons, Robert III, Timothy, Jeffrey, Benjamin and Daniel. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 2 at the Layton Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Bedminster from 4:00pm to 6:00pm. A memorial service will take place at 5:30pm Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Hubert's Animal Welfare Center, P.O. Box 159, Madison, NJ 07940.
