James R. Schleck AGE: 71 • Somerset James R. Schleck, 71, of Somerset, passed away July 3, 2015, at home. He was born January 21, 1944 in Newark, NJ. Jim was a graduate of St. Benedict Prep in Newark, and Villanova University, with a degree in chemical engineering, and received his MS from NJIT. He worked for Exxon in Linden, before founding Jame Fine Chemicals, Inc., in Bound Brook, in 1970. The company later became JFC Technologies, which he sold in 2011. Jim held several patents in the chemical industry. He had a passion for painting, and collecting art. He enjoyed the music of the Beatles and the Doors. He also loved going to the NJ shore and spending time with his family. He was predeceased by his parents, Richard C. and Jean Mitchell Schleck, and his long-time companion Roberta Griesmeyer Chiavaro. He is survived by his son, James "Jamie" Schleck, and his wife, Pamela, of Metuchen; daughter, Susan Schleck Kleiner, of Metuchen; six grandchildren: John, Grace, Luke, and Claire Schleck, and Maggie and Amy Kleiner; brothers Thomas Schleck, of West Caldwell, and Richard Schleck, of Caldwell; sister Mary Jean DeFeo, of Corolla, NC; and many nieces and nephews. He was formerly married to Marybeth F. Connolly. Visitation will be at the Flynn & Son Funeral Home, 319 Amboy Ave., Metuchen, NJ 08840, on Monday July 6, from 4:00-8:00 PM. Funeral services will begin Tuesday, July 7, 9:45 at the funeral home, followed by at 10:15 Funeral Liturgy at St. Francis Cathedral in Metuchen. Cremation will be private. Pasquale "Patsy" Stefanacci AGE: 87 • Lavallette Pasquale "Patsy" Stefanacci, 87 of Lavallette, passed away Thursday, July 2, 2015. Pasquale was a Textile Chemist and worked for Tenneco Inc., of Reading, PA before retiring. He was a proud veteran having served in the US Navy. He was born in Clifton and lived there most of his life. He summered in Lavallette for many years before retiring here in 1992. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Helen Kirrer Stefanacci; two sons, Joseph of Toms River, Lawrence and his wife Ellen of Toms River; 5 grandchildren; 2 great grandsons. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 at Kedz Funeral Home, 1123 Hooper Ave., Toms River. Thierfelder, Erhard Bruno - 84, Manchester  
Erhard Bruno Thierfelder AGE: 84 • Manchester Erhard was born August 30, 1930 in Thalheim, Germany. In 1935, at the age of four, he and his mother, Elsa, left Germany, crossed the Atlantic and joined his father, Bruno, in Dover, New Jersey. Erhard was the valedictorian of his class at Dover High School. He graduated from Harvard College and, after Officer Candidate School, served his country during the Korean War. He attended Columbia Law School on the GI Bill of Rights and, upon graduation, started his career as a lawyer at Simpson, Thacher & Bartlett in Manhattan. Moving back to New Jersey, Erhard served as the law secretary for Superior Court Judge Thomas J. Stanton before embarking on a 40 year career practicing law in Morristown. He was active in local and state politics throughout much of his professional life and represented a number of municipalities and/or their respective commissions in many important legal matters. He raised his family in Mountain Lakes before moving to Flanders and then Manchester. He was a kind and gentle man with a brilliant mind and a passion for politics, world affairs, the law and intellectual discourse of any kind. He read broadly and voraciously his entire life. More than anything else, however, he was a devoted and loving husband, father and son who placed his family at the center of his life. Erhard is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Dolores, of Manchester, his son, John, of Vail, Colorado, his son, Mark, and daughter-in-law, Courtney Lederer, of Princeton, and his adored granddaughters, Zoe and Quinn. John Varinecz Jr. AGE: 91 • Manalapan John Varinecz, Jr., 91, of Manalapan, passed away on March 18, 2015 at Pine Brook Care Center, Manalapan. Born in Proctor, Vermont, he has lived in Manalapan for many years. He was a proud World War II U.S. Navy Veteran and was buried at the Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery. He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Varinecz of Manalapan and his sister, Helen Sandusky of FL. Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

William Venezia AGE: 85 • Cliffwood Beach/ Old Bridge Twp. William Venezia, 85, of Cliffwood Beach/Old Bridge Township, passed away, Thursday, July 02, 2015, at home. Born in Kenilworth, he grew up there before moving to Cliffwood Beach over 50 years ago. He was a sheet metal worker with Local 25; a Charter Member of the Knights of Columbus- St. Lawrence; a member of the Cheesequake VFW; an usher at St. Lawrence RC Church; and enjoyed woodworking. He served his country in the U.S. Army during Korea. William was predeceased by his parents, Leonard and Mary (McQuaid) Venezia; his siblings, Michael Venezia and Rose Bertolotti; and a great granddaughter, Faith Venezia. He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary (Hand) Venezia; his loving children, William John Venezia and his wife Joann of South Amboy; Michael Anthony Venezia and his wife Helen of Spring Hill, FL; and Karen Hicks and her husband William of Tinton Falls; eight cherished grandchildren, Lisa Lawrence and her husband Ron; William Venezia and his wife Erica; Michelle Venezia; Justin Swanson, Nicholas Swanson, Heather Swanson, Donovan Hicks and Conall Hicks; two adored great grandchildren, Hope and Rachel Venezia. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Anne Waskewich AGE: 85 • Iselin Anne Waskewich (nee Knezo), 85, of Iselin, passed away on Friday, July 3, 2015 at her residence with her family by her side. Anne was born and raised in Perth Amboy, moved to Fords and then to Iselin for the last 6 years. Anne received her Bachelor's Degree in Science in 1979 from Rutgers University. She was employed by Westfield Senior Citizens Housing, Westfield as the Administrative Assistant for 10 years. She retired in 2009. She is preceded in death by her devoted husband Edward J. Waskewich, who passed away in 1989; loving mother of Nancy C. Smith, who passed away in 1997; dear daughter of John and Anna (nee Sarik); adored sister of John Jr. and Michael Knezo. She is survived by her beloved son and daughter-in-law Christopher J. and his wife Holly Waskewich; adored grandmother of Jane Ellen, Dennis, Jr., David & Brian and great-grandmother of Vincent & Jasmine. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at 10am at the Gustav J. Novak Funeral Home, 419 Barclay Street with the Rev. David Krotchko officiating. Burial will be at Clover Leaf Memorial Park, Woodbridge. Visiting is on Monday from 7-9 pm.

White, Julia P. - 86, Hazlet  
Julia P. White AGE: 86 • Hazlet Julia P. White, also known as "Pat", 86, of Hazlet, passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2015, at Bayshore Community Hospital in Holmdel. She was born Julia P. Kennedy on Dec. 28, 1928 in Newark, where she grew up. After marriage, she and her husband, James, settled in Hazlet to raise their family. Pat was retired from the Prudential Insurance Company, where she worked in their accounting department and was a longtime member of the Hazlet Seniors. She was predeceased by her parents, Owen and Catherine (Sheridan) Kennedy and her beloved husband, James T. White. Julia is survived by her loving children, Dr. James T. White and his wife Barb of Hazlet, Christopher O. White and his wife Dolores of Holiday, FL, and Michael White and his wife Sharon of Mineral, VA. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Jacqueline White, Christopher White, Jeff King, Owen White, Tiffany White, Christopher Illis, Zachary White, Lindsey White, and Mariah Boulier, along with her five adored great-grandchildren. She will be sadly missed, but never forgotten. In respect of Julia's wishes, she will privately cremated. White, Thomas M. - 87, Brick  
Thomas M. White AGE: 87 • Brick Thomas M. White, 87, of Brick passed away Thursday, July 2, 2015 at Ocean Medical Center. Raised in Ocean Grove NJ by the late Harry & Isabelle (Walker) White, Thomas grew up in Neptune, NJ where he was a proud member of the Neptune High School football team, graduating in 1945. He married his wife Janet Bodeep White in Asbury Park, in 1957 and raised his family in Ocean Township while working as a detective for the Township of Ocean. Mr. White later moved his family to Point Pleasant Borough, NJ and worked for many years in the Howell School district before settling in Brick. He was a veteran of the United States Army and past president of PBA, Local 57. He was predeceased by his wife, Janet Bodeep White and sister, June Burhing of Colorado. Surviving are his son, Edward White and his wife Kimberly of Howell, NJ along with their children McLaine and Cassidy, his daughter Julia White of Belmar, NJ and his son Dr. Thomas White and his wife Susan and their children Kathryn, Peter and Madeline of Brick, NJ.
