Alinder Ann (Linda) Ridley

Alinder Ridley passed away on Monday, Nov. 19, 2012 at Regency Jewish Heritage Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Somerset after a long fight with cancer. She was the youngest of 12 children of the late Simon and Anna Ridley. She attended Bound Brook High School and graduated from Hollywood High School in Hollywood, California after moving there in 1967. During her time in the Los Angeles area, she worked at a law firm in Beverly Hills, and also studied acting at the Film Actors Workshop at Warner Bros. Studios, Burbank. Returning home to NJ, Alinder studied music with Ernie Scott and performed in local clubs here in Jersey and New York. Until her retirement she was employed at Anadigics, Inc. in Warren, NJ for 14 years as Executive Assistant to the Vice President of Operations. While employed there she was given the opportunity to travel to many Asian countries including Thailand, Philippines, Taiwan and Hong Kong. She enjoyed Asia with Bangkok being her favorite, where she loved shopping in their outdoor markets and become very fond of Thai cuisine. Alinder was a former member of First Baptist Church in South Bound Brook where she was instrumental in starting the I.E. Bright Choir, she served as Church Secretary and participated in the music ministry. Alinder loved to sing and write poetry, she allowed God to use her talent to bless many people.

Alinder was predeceased by her parents; brothers, David, Donald, Milton, Gilbert and her sister, Kelly Jean. She is survived by brothers, French of So. Bound Brook, Rollon of Piscataway and Jerry of Plainfield; sisters, Marion Williams of Somerset and Gloria Faso of Somerset. She leaves behind her dear fiancé, Jim Jackson, Sr.; nieces, Tracy Leipzig, Kim Newsome, Karen Gibson, Brigette, Sabrina, Tameka, Barbara Ann, Monica and Celeste Ridley-Packwood among a host of others; nephews, Rollon Jr., Todd, Erik, and Jerry. She also leaves a host of cherished friends from Anadigics and BFF Vickie Giordano and Rev. Jo Ann Tatum.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, November 23, 2012 from 9AM -11AM with a service beginning at 11AM at the First Baptist Church, 43 Franklin Street, South Bound Brook, NJ 08880.
