Barney Corso, 89, of Lakewood died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013 at Community Medical Center, Toms River. He was born in Brooklyn, NY and lived in Little Egg Harbor before moving to Toms River 2 years ago. Mr. Corso was a Letter Carrier for the United States Postal Service, and served in the United States Army
. Barney participated in many activities in Leisure Park and in Little Egg Harbor, he enjoyed taking trips to Atlantic City and was an avid Yankee Fan. He was also a former parishioner of St. Theresa's R.C. Church in Little Egg Harbor.
He was predeceased by his wife, Josephine Costa Corso in 2012. Surviving are three daughters, Jeanette Moschetta and her husband Ralph of Manchester, NJ, Concetta Bevilacqua and her husband Joseph of New Milford, NJ and Lenore Corso and her companion John Sullivan of Pt. Pleasant, NJ; four grandchildren, Carla and her husband Nicholas Scarabino, Christina and her husband Aaron Buser, and Anthony Bevilacqua and Alissa Bevilacqua and four great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Sunday, January 27th from 2-9 PM at Van Hise and Callagan Funeral Home, 812 Arnold Ave., Pt. Pleasant Beach. A funeral mass will be held Monday, 11:00 AM at St. Peter's Church, Pt. Pleasant Beach. Interment will be held Tuesday, 10:00 AM at the Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veteran's Cemetery, Arneytown, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations to
