Benedykta Jurkiewicz, age 88, resident of Forked River, Lacey Township, for over 50 years, passed away peacefully on Christmas Day, December 25th at 5:15am.
Benedykta was born in Poland and married to her beloved husband, Boleslaw, of 67 years. They came to the United States in 1951 with a trunk of clothing, $50.00 and 2 Children.
She was an excellent seamstress and loved to knit and crochet. She loved her family and was always there for them. She spent much of her time watching the eleven great grandchildren growing up.
Benedykta is the loving mother of Christine Haemmerle, son-in-law Dennis and Chester Jurkiewicz, daughter in-law, Nancy, all of Forked River; Benedykta cherished her four Grandchildren, Lisa PaoleIla, husband Mark, Jeffrey Jurkiewicz, wife Janel, Scott Haemmerle, wife Lynette and Stacy Petry, husband Bob, all of Ocean County; and eleven great grandchildren, Gordy, Jared, Jorden, Danielle, Jesse, Logan, Griffin, Sydney, Derek, Shayla, and Emily.
Friends may call from 3-7 pm Monday at Layton's Home For Funerals, (609) 971-6800, 250 W. Lacey Road, Forked River, Lacey. Relatives and friends of the family are respectfully invited to attend the funeral on Tuesday at 8:30 am from the funeral home, hence to St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church, Forked River, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 am. Burial will follow at Saint Joseph's Cemetery, Toms River, NJ.
