Benjamin Linden Becker

Benjamin Linden Becker, 95, of Ocean, passed away Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012 at Monmouth Medical Center. He was born in Brooklyn, NY to Samuel and Sarah Lindenburgh Becker. Ben was a 1948 graduate of The University of Southern California and has been a Monmouth County resident since 1961. He was the Founder and President of Becker/Jani Inc., an advertising agency based in Middletown, NJ. Ben proudly served our country during WWII
from June 1941 to December 1945 where he was a captain in the 72nd Division, 106th Infantry of the U.S. Army. He served in both India and China. Ben and his wife May were avid world travelers.
He is predeceased by his parents, his twin brother, Lou and brothers, Murray and Julius. Ben is survived by his beloved wife of 70 years, May Ronis Becker; sons, Robert J. of Asbury Park and Douglas E. and wife Grace of Monmouth Beach; daughters, Donna Chapman of Groves, TX, Deborah J. Mead and husband Mark of Freehold Twp., and Wendy S. Burke and husband Michael of Leonardo. He is also survived by his ten grandchildren, Abigail, Alex, Allison, Andrew, Brian, Christian, Maggie, Meredith, Sarah, Steven and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 8th from 4-8pm at the John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Avenue, Red Bank. A funeral home service will take place on Friday, November 9th at 10am. Entombment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Red Cross for Hurricane Sandy relief.
