Bernard Greenberg, 89, of Red Bank, died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born and raised in Brooklyn, he served in the Army during World War II and was honorably discharged as a Sargent with a certificate of merit accommodation. He worked in Jersey City, where he owned and operated a retail stationary store. He moved to Clark in 1965. He moved to Middletown in 1983, he also owned a stationary store in Red Bank. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias and became Chancellor Commander. He received the highest honor, Knight of the Golden Spur. He was an active member of Shady Oaks Condominium Board in Middletown. He organized the Men's Club and later became president of the Condominium Association.

Surviving are his devoted wife of 62 years, Rose; and two sons, Harvey of Ocean and Jeff of Morristown.

Graveside services are 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 11 at Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge. Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, Ocean Twp., is in charge of arrangements.
